Brian,

Can you post picks of both Miller and Trevino or anyone for that matter where they are both hitting driver???

It would be a lot easier to prove your point if you did it with pictures of the same club.

lol....are ANY OF YOU looking at how much their hips are tilted in any of those pics? That is one of the obvious tell tale signs.

I gave a lesson today that would make ALL of you (ok, some of you) laugh.

Mike Finney's brother, Tim, New Orleans Saints team doctor, and a former college player and 1 or 2 handiicap.

He SHOWED UP TODAY with a PERFECT "Pivot Swing Center Tripod."

His head was PRECISELY between his feet.

It stayed there until the finish swivel.

He was REALLY struggling.

I squared up his hips, move them to his left, which moved his head WELL to the right to maintain balance.

His head, now much more 'behind the ball,' helped a bunch. What else helped was more HIP TURN and less hip slide on the backstroke.

This with as MUCH TILT AS POSSIBLE on the downswing, which we accomplished getting his LEFT SHOULDER as far away from the ball as possible at impact.

He hit it a 1000 times better.

This lesson HAD to be given to someone who has a VERY weak left hand grip (much weaker than Manzell-neutral), and will not change it. He also holds his hands at address lower than Mac O'Grady or Ryan Moore. His right forearm is WAY off plane at address. This is his swing, and the grip and low hands are NON-Negotiable.

Could a "pivot tripod center-right forearm pickup-right arm flying wedge set at address teaching teacher", handle a student like this in one hour?

Could Leadbetter, or Haney, or Hardy?

What would they do....what would they do.

"What would they do....what would they do."

That quotes gives me an idea for the site, Brian. Take Jack Nicholson's quote: "You can't handle the truth" and have it play every time someone lands on your site for the 1st time. :)

Interesting lesson post could you go into more detai lb ywhat you mean by get the left shoulder as far wawy from the ball as soon as possible at impact?
I am struggling wiht a swing that has too much rotation on the downswing forcing me out of my posture a bit to still dorp the club inside and not go ott from an ott start down.
Since no AI or quality instructors are e aroundme I am relying on my self with video andan instructor locally to work things out. The concept of working my right sholder downplae whileI know is correct, I am finding near impossible to do. I am hoping for a drill or correct image to get it right.
I did email you a video clip at one point a few weeks back, not sure if you had a chance to see it
Love to hear more form you

To be fair—and I always am ;) these guys were good players when the left pic were taken.

But!

The pics on the right CLEARLY have a head that is farther to the right (turned around the BASE of the neck instead of through the head), a LOOK OF LEAN to the their right because of it, and also because of it are more 'behind the ball."

And...they played BETTER with the swings on the right. PERIOD.

That's why I taught the backswings on the right when I was a pup teacher in 1982....

...and still do.

I am satisfied that you have more sequence on the two. However, from just these photos, my attention is on the hips. In the right photos the lead hip looks closer to the target and one can see the rear pant pocket. If this is correct could the appearance of the head being more to their right be just the effect of hip movement?

DRW

EDIT: Just read your "lesson" post. Still focusing on the hips, Is the extent of head movement to the right controlled by how much the hips are prepositioned toward the target (if this is what "move them to his left" means)and will clearing the right hip instead of squaring them result in the head staying more centered? Or, are there other factors in getting the head well to the right? Also, does "getting his LEFT SHOULDER as far away from the ball as possible at impact" mean "higher" as HK writes in 7-8, The Fix.

Thanks

DRW
