What I teach the BODY to do through the ball.....

He put his hands up on my hip, when he dip, I dip, we dip.

But seriously, it's probably different feels for everyone, we know that. For me, it was absolutely not a stall maneuver, pretty much the opposite. Had my hips way more open than they were when I first showed up with my action through the ball.

OLIVER1,

What I've learned in my few times with Brian and talking with his staff guys, Is to notice what the Ball was doing.. When I actually saw with my own eyes the ball flight that MY swing produced with the Trackman numbers and Brian standing behind tell me that’s it and talking me through the body motions now I just go back to that when my feelings get lost I watch what the ball is doing in relation to the target I've chosen and where I want the ball to end up with MY swing.
I also started a swing log after every session or every lesson with Brian I write down every word he has shared with me for MY swing feels and all, then I just review that and then hit the range.
It has worked so far I try not to add to much to the swing until I see Brian again hopefully the swing is better and he tunes it up if it has changed. I hope that helps

The coolest thing was your recognition of the one special guest when Brian introduced you to him! You were like hi...oh hi!! Could tell you thought that was really cool.

Great job on your behalf too, keep up the good work.

Brian's "business" feel is something you can't learn from videos, scientific verbal explanations, or rushing to the range and trying harder with trial and error and error and error.... and then declaring 'I got it'...!!! You got nothing and your only deluding yourself.

What Brian is doing is imposing body rotations by manipulating you with his hands, etc.. IOW, he's force-feeding you to rotate your body in a proper kinetic sequence and posture. He's virtually programming you into a golfswing.

It's like robotics, where the robot arms are physically pulled through it's operations for the first time and the movements are tracked by the robot computer program and stored. How did you think robots learned to operate repetitively on a production line?!

The power emanates from your hips to your shoulders provided you time it properly for your arms and club... and then your arms are finally pulled through and flung out... the lead arm doing nearly no 'work' and the rear arm extending with correct timing while the club just follows.

Of course this assumes you are fit to swing, rotate, thrust, jump, balance, aim. The challenge for most is the timing and whether you can transmit the lower body power to your shoulders through your core. Most can't do it because the core is compromised and weak... and the sequencing is inconsistent and screwed up.

If you watch demo videos, many of those swinging do not have an X-Factor stretch and the hips and shoulders rotate in unison. It's okay for wedges, but it produces a powerless drive.

I bet Brian can even help even the most decrepit by just laying his hands on them.. and then eureka.. they're cured ...!!!!

SteveT!
It's marvelous to have you back. I am a little concerned though: the style and cadence of your writing is odd. You're not a fifth columnist from one of those rascally "other" websites are you?

Sounds like a training aid begging to be invented; the UMPH maker, or THE BUSINESS. Three payments of $29.95 + shipping and handling.

Now that's an unfair cynical comment and certainly not what I was saying. If Brian produces a video explaining the scientific basis of his teaching method, that is perfectly legitimate service for those who cannot visit Brian for a "hands-on business" lesson. If you want to try it on your own, that's fine, but you should realize that you should seek out Brian or a Manzella Academy Certified Instructor to get an objective assessment of your swing too.

Some claim a miracle cure to their wayward golfswing after just a few tries, which is a dubious subjective assessment in my view. Only an objective assessment can confirm if you are doing it right or wrong. Your swing results are not proof that you are doing it as prescribed. IOW, I mistrust anybody on these fora who claim their swing problems are cured after one try on their own. That may be just me, while others congratulate the claimant just to be polite and encouraging.

I support Brian in his crusade to learn and implement correct science into his golfswing teaching for the mass of struggling golfers... because I did take him over the coals in his old (tgm) days. Brian is reinventing himself in a manner that I applaud... and those who doubt my sincerity, they can GTH.

Obviously, Brian knows how to teach and he's found the hands-on business method successful. Adding that to his scientific knowledge creates a unique teaching service.

Just wanted to bump this thread - because I think it has "light bulb just came on!" content.

During a Trackman session this morning, I kept feeling a lack of zip in the UMPH department. All the path and angle numbers were OK but the ball just wasn't making the sound that I like to hear.

After playing it over in my mind all day, my amateur diagnosis was ... hips stalling. So, I logged on tonight and entered the search keywords "Hips body stall." Eureka! Midway down the search page sits this thread from December.

Folks, the "search" function on this site is ... Priceless.

I'm going to the range in the morning and giving my swing "The Business."

Thanks BManz.

Ya, for me once I get my hands on a good hand path and the left arm to about the 9:30 position and working down and in on the downswing, I can pivot just about as hard as I want/can keeping dynamic stability (as 'art' would say) and hit the ball real well.
