What is your driver setup?

Sorry guys, a little bored, the snow hasn't melted and I am running out of places to scratch.

What drivers do you use and what shaft setups?

I have a TM R9 2' open and the stock stiff shaft (Motore, I think). This is truly my favorite driver of the 8 I have owned.

Just ordered the R9 with the Motore 65S. Got it for $99 new. Hopefully it gets here soon because the snow has just melted and it will be 60 on Friday!

Mizuno MP-630 FastTrack with weights as far forward as possible(I think, at least that's where I want them), stock Mizuno Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Stiff shaft

When I'm hitting it well, it's great! And goes far :D

jbrunk- how has the 2 degree open face worked for you? What had you go in that direction and how has affected your ball flight/confidence?

I still have the original TM R7 with a Graffaloy Pro Launch Blue but am considering going to a new weapon.

Thanks

Was fit for and used a 9.5 degree (Callaway) FT-9, with Graffaloy ProLaunch Platinum X flex. Broke it, and had to switch to one of our stock demos, FT-9 10.5 Zcon S flex - picked up 10 more yards and hit it straighter immediately. That was at the end of last season, right before our provincial championship. Best unintentional change I've ever made.

I wish I could say a bunch of technical jargon and go on about how it has helped me work the ball and on and on, but, I simply am a recovering underplaner and it helps me keep it in play. The biggest plus is I hate how 'stock' drivers always looked closed at setup, so the open look appeals more to me.

I have an original Adams Speedline. Back in December I saw it still in the wrapper at an Edwin Watts for $70. It has a Grafalloy Unix stiff flex shaft, but it's the low launch.

I think Mizuno's drivers are WAY underrated. I have both a MP-600 Fastrack, and the newer MP-630 Fastrack. Two of the most solid drivers I've ever hit. I have an interchangeable shaft setup on them. I have several, but my two favorites are the Aldila NV-75S, and the UST Pro-Force V2 65-S. Both shafts pured, and the swingweights play heavy, like D-5 and D-7, depending on which shaft is placed in which head.

I have other drivers (I have too many damn clubs), but those two are by far my favorites.

TaylorMade r7 TP Superquad with X-flex RE-AX 85 factory fitted.

Had it for ages now. I never really expected it to work for me considering I'm just a wee weakling, but its the best driver I've ever had by far.

After being fit on Trackman at Miles of Golf to a Ping G-15 9 deg. with I15 stiff shaft. The G15 at the fitting clearly was the best, but I could never make the club that I received from Ping perform similarly.

I tried a friend's Ping Rapture, liked it, bought the identical club on e-Bay for $75 bucks or so played it for most of last season. Ping original Rapture, 10.5 By-You shaft Regular Flex.

TaylorMade '07 Burner TP tour issue 8.5° w/Matrix Ozik HD6 Xflex.

I still haven't hit a ball with it. I just put the shaft in this month and work has been to busy to get time to play. I had a Aldila Proto X in the driver and I loved the trajectory, but got no roll. I'm hoping the HD6 will fix that.

I'm playing a Ping G15 9* with a 73g Whiteboard shaft. So far the best driver setup I have ever used. My next best is a G10 with a Diamana Kai'li shaft. I haven't been on Trackman or a launch monitor with them, but they sure do feel good.

Curious to try the TM r11 though.

The only driver I ever had spined broke in half during my downswing. As Paul Wood says, no need to spine, just buy / get more expensive shafts.

Agreed! Forgot to say that the MP-630 is 1° open :)

I love the feel you get from it. A good hit with it feels sooo good!

Adams Speedline 8.5 C8 Swingweight 44''

Adams Speedline 8.5 C8 Swingweight 44'' Accuflex Creation X

Super light, super fast.

Built for a greyhound like me :)

I like to take things to extremes.... my last driver was the complete opposite

Maltby 8.5 - D9 Swingweight - 47'' - Graffaloy prolite X - it performed well, went far but I never really felt in control.

My current baby has been in the bag for 2 years... feels like a 3 wood with a big head.
