What is your driver setup?

Agreed! Forgot to say that the MP-630 is 1° open :)

I love the feel you get from it. A good hit with it feels sooo good!

I haven't had mine checked, but are they all supposed to be 1 degree open? I haven't really read up on the specs, I just knew that I liked the MP-600 so much, and I got the 630 for a steal on ebay.

For accuracy (95% of rounds) - Wishon 949MC on Series 5 Steel stiff 44" (high-moi'd)

For length (5% of rounds) - SMT DeepBore 455 on AccuFlex Assassin stiff 47.5"

Cheers

The best all-round driver I've had in many years is a no-name brand with a steel head of about 260cc. 12 degrees loft with a 'firm' flex steel shaft, 43 inches long.

Got it at a driving range for $25 new, removed the joke shaft that was in it, and paid $10 for a used driver with a shaft I thought might be good. Added a new grip for $5. Total cost $40.

Yes, they're one degree open. Made for better players :)

I would say it does, but I can't look right now... But I would recommend the MP-630 to anyone who likes to shape their shots :) I hook it a lot less than my old driver.

It's a driver that's very pleasant to look at :)

I would completely agree with this, with respect to both the MP-600 and 630. They look very "traditional," and set up very square behind the ball, or slightly open-looking. It just looks like a solid club behind the ball. Also, when struck well, they don't have a loud, echoing, piercing sound, like some of today's big drivers. They deliver a solid "thwack" at impact that is very pleasing.

That's it for me. I'm gettin one. I hate the noise of Ping drivers, and many others.

The worst violators of that sound policy were some of the previous generation Nike Sumo drivers. They sounded like you were hitting the ball with a Coke can!

i use the i15, 8.5 degree with their stock stiff Axivcore shaft. i really like how the deep face looks and really like the stock shaft. But I'd really like to get fit one day at a place where they really know what they are doing. I suspect the G15 might work better for me, but the g15s I tried all looked too closed to me.

Here's my idea for a late winter Manzella academy event in AZ -- Manzella blocks out one day for morning lessons and then a round of 9 in the late afternoon, with day 2 then being a fitting day, with input from Brian and fitting people at a Cool Clubs or ping custom type place (they are in Phoenix area, right?).
