When is the pivot brake applied?

More specifically, are the shoulders/hips parallel, closed or even open to the plane line when the chain snaps?

I feel like the next movement after the sit down position is my "snap" and that my hips are slightly open and my shoulders are closed to the plane line.

I'm not actively trying to stop my pivot, but understanding the relationship of the shoulders and hips and what I can do to maximize this transfer of energy seems doable!

Whaddua think?
