When to consider more roll ?

OK, so you are hitting the ball ok and pretty much where you are looking without conciously thinking of your hands or what they are doing.

Just to see what happens you try and roll them a bit more at impact and really arch or flatten the left wrist - you get better contact and more distance. Direction though is a bit erratic with some shots going straight left.

So my question is when do you know you have enough roll and a flat enough or arched enough left wrist at impact? based on contact and distance or direction control ?

First, arching is totally separate from roll.

If you arch and have a lot of forward shaft lean you will get more distance.

If you have the ball going straight left, then probably that's a clubface issue...due likely to the roll.

One 'corrective' action for slicers is to weaken the grip, arch, and roll ccw into impact.

Not sure about the inconsistencies...probably just standard screwups.

if you are hitting the ball ok with not thinking about "the roll" through impact than you shouldn't try to do anymore as it's basically impossible to control.

If you can not over analyze it might help to see if your lefts are too much roll or path or the club passing your hands.
