Interesting...My 2 pennies for what it's worth...
In any human endeavour - and not just in the sporting arena -the onus SHOULD be that rigidly-held, dogmatic beliefs have a duty to prove themselves viable time after time, to the exclusion of new ideas and concepts and so forth, in order for us to evolve
Now, in our golfing world it seems that the old stuff spewed out time after time cannot do this, but has held sway just because; however, a paradigm shift for the sake of it (which has become the norm in those looking to make a name, sell DVD's etc) seems to me to be thinking the fire is a more attractive place than the frying pan.
Brian is the first teacher that I've certainly come across - with apologies to those I don't know, or those who have helped shape Brian's knowledge - who actually challenges the prevailing wisdom and offers something concrete in lieu.
