Where exactly IS "Low Point"?

Interesting point...Brian said somthing in thread "What is low point" that he moves players low point most easily with plane line movement...or something like that.... but i don't believe that this is the only way... i think mandrin got something else going on in those fancy " trajectories" diagrams.... waiting for brian's words to help my brain.

Well, I see that he did edit his post. It wasn´t there earlier. Therefore my post.

I don´t see how to change otherwise. Unless you don´t want to do a proper golfswing... then you can change low point by changing where you have your weight.

Also looking forward to mandrin/brians input.

Ball position can be anywhere based on stance width, club design, your physical body limitations, your plane line or angle, and more things.

Just find one that works for you that isn't too far back.

Hi Jim, I've been away for quite some time due to a bad shoulder and then a broken hand but I thought Brian teaches a single ball position. No?

Thanks

Brian has his preferances but that isn't the only thing he teaches. For higher handicaps i agree (he showed me why hehe) 1 ball position is better and let them adjust their stance. There is a reasoning behind it.

However, i have my own ideas on ball position and i haven't had trouble moving it around for my students.

Did you know that by simply switching your irons you are going to have to re-learn ball position for those clubs?

Because of offset differences?

Jim, is this similar to the thing Percy Allis developed, i.e. ball always off the left heel, but widen stance progressively as the clubs get longer?

This seems to say it. I guess Brian's point that under the left shoulder isn't fixed or an absolute?

I think the mechanics employed indicate that Low Point other than for special shots will always be in front of the ball.

O I get this now.

Less Axis Tilt......left shoulder is lower when club reaches Low Point. (further back)

I didn't understand it at first but now I realize you have it all rigged up like an actual model......the shoulder is "connected" to the left arm thru that little red dot....club and left arm and shoulder line remain the same length thru all the pics....etc......

......and the drawn lines make up your model......Ben Hogan (in the background) is just Ben Hogan....same as the first example.

Nice.

It's pretty simple once you see it eh?.....good work mandrin. Thanks for explanation Brian.

I seriously don't get the pictures. Someone help explain them to me without mentioning power accumulators and pla. Please.

I know what the four accumulators are, but I forget which is which number.

It means:

All else being equal at impact.....

If your left arm and shaft (green + pink lines) are NOT in-line your low point will be different than when they ARE in-line.

And.....if the blue line changes (don't really know how else to explain it lol but I know it has to do with tilt).......your low point changes too.
