Why does this happen..?

Sometimes I am able to really lag the sweetspot and finish wedding ring up.

Sometimes I am unable to lag the sweetspot & finish wedding ring down.

I am thinking that I am in the wrong position at the top...? Or Possibly not bending the right wrist back on the takeaway..?

Any comments will help !

Thanks

You could be making a good twistaway backswing and losing the sweetspot because of another backswing move. Brian explains this in the "backswing pivot" part of NSA. This is assuming you have worked with the twistaway enough that you can do it consistently (sounds like you have).
Make sure you are:

1. Setting up with your hips square
2. Turning your hips sharp enough (turn them right away without any "hip slide" to the right, your right leg will straighten a bit)
3. Turning your shoulders flat enough (get your right shoulder as far away from the ball as you can)
4. Letting the club come "in" with your hips (think Sam Snead)

Try that and see what happens.

I am a proponent of the deep wrist hinging that occurs during the swing; grip pressure needs to be light in order for that to occur. The club feels to me like it is just resting in my fingers while I coil and uncoil.

And this addresses his question... how?
