I'd like to see the roller coaster rides of the 70s and 80s. Man, I remember 1986 like it was yesterday. I thought Tom Kite was going to win, then Norman. Nicklaus charges, his attacks on 13 and 15, his damn near ace on 16, and Norman pushes his approach on 18. It was the most exciting golf I've ever watched.

GAHHHHH YA JOHNSON.

....

That was good to watch.....except for early in the round most of the guys did a good job coming down the stretch. At least it was interesting. Paul satisfied.

Retief sure did look like he had it, that 4 footer on 12, 10 footer on 13, 4 footer on 14, 10 footer on 15, ball that was inches from rolling to within 5 feet on 16 but stayed up, damn. If just a few of those things would've worked out for him...

Tiger's shot on 15 was surprising, I thought he would lay up after missing his drive. When he eagled 13 I thought he still might sneak one out while being slightly off.

Zach Johnson looked unstoppable on the back nine, until the 17th hole. That's when he said he first looked at the leaderboard. Fortunately he had it in the bag by then.

Appleby was aiming right all day (like I do), no wonder he didn't play well.

Yeah, agree there. Mental error pushing too hard in my book (i should know, do it all the time!). A good lay-up and pitch/putt birdie would have got him within 1 with 3 to play.

Whatever Tiger's done with his swing lately seems to have affected his distance control. He was miles off, even with the simplest of shots (for him anyway)...
