Question for the experts especially Brian!
I have always had a problem with a very quick, snatchy tempo and an extremely short backswing.
The SDP video describes a very specific takeaway which settles that tempo with the LCT created by the 'step'. But then something really unusual and amazing! I heard Brian describing 'widening the elbows at the top', and for me its a very effective way of getting fully turned to the top of the backswing rather than remaining stuck halfway back. Has anyone else found this?
I now think of widening the elbows as much as possible from about halfway back and it has the effect of getting that shoulder fully turned or maybe its the other way round, you can't get the shoulders turned without widening the elbows?
Also, can someone explain the Ernest Jones quote about swinging with 'no leverage'? Isn't creating huge leverage the whole point of the golf swing?
