Garth, if you understand the relationship between face angle and ball flight you'd understand.

Basically, you hit the ball with an open enough face at impact so that as it's closing, AT SEPARATION, the face is still open and not square.

Thus the ball fades.

Yeah, ok... I'm with ya; but Just because it's possible, does that make it optimal? Seems like it would involve a lot of timing. Of course if this is a "cure" kind of drill, I can understand it.

No not really...just grip it really weak (hogan neutral) and hit the ball with a semi-arched left wrist.

Full roll fade :)
 
The Arched-ness is important.....(Garth)...

And Axis Tilt.

BTW I'm sure it CAN be pretty darn optimal.
