I was on a Jones/De la Torre kick for about a year. I have the "Swing the Clubhead" book and "Understanding the Golf Swing" by the aforementioned teachers. I never got one bit better. It encourages flipping and moving everything with the hands.
They both teach a hand controlled pivot, with the head dead still and every shot played in the middle of the stance. I am so glad that I got a clue and happened on this site one day - it has changed my game.
I can see now - with the imperatives of TGM, how a pure swinging motion could work, but for the struggling golfer, looking for answers, this will make you worse, a lot worse. Cause you will be a worse flipper than you can imagine.
Bottom line, you've got to have the imperatives, no matter what. I hope we don't get away from that, because the imperatives, along with a correct pivot have transformed my game.
