    You gotta love these guys....

Feature article in this months GD has an article on downcocking, or float loading, re-named as the "V-Gap". I love it. Lets reinvent the wheel a hundred more times and take credit for a "discovery". Not hating...just struck me as really funny.

An interesting thing happened to me today

As I was playing in our weekly section event, I teed off on the seventh hole with my hybrid. I made prob my best swing of the day to that point, 230 on a rope. But for the first time in my life the friggin' head of my club flew off right after impact! Might be an easy answer, but what do you...

Just in case you didn't notice....

Did anyone take note that all, and I mean all, players (except the drawers of the ball) were aiming left for their irons at the Open. I'm just saying..........

    Interesting Trackman Data

here are three swings with a 7 iron from one of my better students. Just finished top 15 in the Big Ten Championship. Likes to play a tiny draw. I found it interesting how good players seem to find a way to make things consistent. All three of these shots looked indentical.....but Horizontal...

My days with Brian and trackman....whoa! (now with ultra-high speed video!)

As promised, I am posting up some Trackman data from my trip to New Orleans. Many thanks to Brian and Tom for the hospitality, it was alot of fun. I went down with an "anti block fade" pattern that has a SDish backswing and NHA downswing. My fear is getting "under" and in light of recent...

    Going to see The Manzellion

Well, I leave Saturday to go to the last stage of PGA learning and get fitted for my blue blood jacket. On the way back, however, I'm stopping by New Orleans to see BMan for a few days. We are spending the first day collecting data on Trackman. That night, I'd like a true local to show me some...

    Vertical left arm- BManz question

All things being equal - on the downswing, if the left arm swings out further than vertical, does that force the left wrist to twist or downarch AND the left wrist to uncock more for a square hit? As opposes to an "in" left arm (sergio) requiring maintenance of left wrist cock and more rotation...

    Knowing what we know now.....

would anyone here be more likely to take a lesson from someone solely based on that person owning a Trackman? Thank you for responding honestly.

Where have i heard this before?

Nick Price, in this month's Golf Digest: "Tour players dont fade the ball the way amateurs do. They actually make a draw type swing, with the clubhead approaching from inside the line of play instead of swiping across it. All they do is aim left and make sure the face is slightly open at...

    The dreaded and misunderstood...underplane

I just had a few exchanges with Guitar Hero about underplane and it seems to me that we, and many others either have conflicting ideas of what it even means. Maybe Brian or others could help. If the True Path AT IMPACT is the only thing that matters, would it stand to reason that if you're...

    Q-School

Do any of you west coast guys know about the two course the finals are on? Trust me, I'm aware of the quality of play at that level, but no final round flameouts? Currently, there isnt one single guy in the top 30 that is over par today. What are they putting on, pool tables? Is the weather...

    Brian, question about soft draw

Brian, what do you think about a friend of mine.....ok, it's me, who is using the soft draw pattern very effectively but is struggling to get the last "point"? At last parallel, mine is pointing quite a bit left. I'm definately not carrying my arms on my chest. Do you have an opinion or should...

    Lagging Clubhead Takeaway / Manzella

Brian, could you elaborate on the LCT? Are there different types? Core activated or hands only? Straight line like Monty or in an arc like Hogan? Are there different LCT's for different patterns? Right forearm pickup? Would McHatton tell you to stress the shaft with the core? What say you?

    To all the teachers

Although I'm having the best year ever teaching......thank you Brian:cool: , there is a particular pattern i continue to have the damndest time with. It's epidemic at my club and I'm sure at every one else's. I just can't seem to get very far with it. Here it is in a nutshell. Middle age woman...

    Kenny Perry

Brian, as you well know, one of my issues is a continuing struggle with getting under the sweetspot in the downswing because of the way I load the club. Could you please do an analysis of Kenny Perry's move with an emphasis on his ability to always stay right directly behind the face for such a...

    Slanted Hips!

For anyone who has had difficulty reaching the TSP or staying there in the transition, or for that matter anyone who feels they "back up" to find the plane in the downswing, review Brian's Youtube on slanted hips. I just spent a day with the man in Ohio and although i have always struck the ball...

    Tiger's Grip

For those of you who are trying a neutral grip, check out (especially if you have TIVO) the slo mo (there are plenty of them) shots of Tiger's swing. He's employed a much weaker grip than in the past, obviously. Pause the TV right before impact. His left wrist is damn near facing the ground...

Trying to turn that sucker down

Brian, all things being equal, as long as I 1) Keep the shaft on plane 2) Keep the right wrist bent back 3) and swing left enough, is it possible to try to turn the face off the plane too soon?

    Aim for a draw

Brian, could you explain the interworkings of alignment for a draw. I'm learning it might be aiming more right than i ever thought, given that the ball starts left of the path. Also , technically, does the toe hit the outside of the ball on such a shot?
