    Hands at the Plane Line?

SoCal, First off, if you want to have a certain look at impact that your favorite players have it would help to have a top of the backswing look those players have. That's one of the problems with chasing the effect, and not the cause. Second, you may have mistyped, but 0% of top players have...

More ammo for the golf announcer haters

I just watched Bill Haas sweep hook a wedge on 18. He then proceeded to pose an underplane position followed by a practice tumble (similar to the Alex Noren drill). The announcers proceeded to fumble around as if they had no idea what he was doing. Makes it more of an uphill battle to get proper...

    PGA Village January

If anyone is playing in the PGA Senior/Junior Team Event on January 16-19 and wants to hit balls and talk golf swing at the Learning Center let me know. I usually shut the place down before getting beer'd up at Duffy's afterward.

    Anti-Summit Eve

Being a terrible student in school and generally having a limited interest in overloads of science (my least favorite subject), I was not skeptical of this event, only how much I personally could gain. I tend to have a lot of scientific info dumbed down to me by Brian or Mike Finney so I can use...

    Hogan at the Open

Im a fan of Hogan, despite what Dariusz might think:). I've been reading a book about Hogan recently and one of the chapters dealt with his performance at the US Open. While his record may be second to none, upon closer examination, there seems to be a few that we're marked by weekend collapses...

    Jason "All" Day

I never thought I'd see a slower player than his namesake, Glenn "All" Day. But this guy is the slowest player I've ever seen. WTF are you thinking about for so long!!!!!!!!!!!

Top teachers getting some big fees.....

I honestly dont, and never will, care about what people earn for a living. i was, however, a little taken aback by the posted rates of some of the Top 50, or whatever. Nevermind the $10,000 a day or $30,000 that Lead and Pelz charge. I noticed alot of $350-$750 per hour rates. I'm just...

    My Non Golf Thread

Baseball is the greatest sport. You have to get 27 outs. No sitting on a knee, letting the playclock run down, no faking an injury to stop the clock. One of the best nights in regular season history. I love sports that have no play clock!!!

    Rocco Mediate

I spent the better part of the afternoon today hitting balls and practicing with Mediate. A few quotes (paraphrasing some of course) "The club should be light" "No one any good moves the club forward thru impact" (I thought that was interesting) "I never pull. I feel the clubhead go right...

Manzella: Hardest working man in golf...and as good as advertised

I haven't had a golf lesson in, I'll bet almost 3 years. Ive obviously kept up with the information but in reality, with my workload, my swing has had more than its share of patchwork. I went into the season really not having any expectations regarding ballstriking. My off season was a total...

Not all commentators are as bad as you think

Curtis Strange and Paul Azinger, I thought, were excellent. Insightful commentary and impeccable timing on some comments. Particularly when Azinger said Mickelson should give that little 2 footer his full attention before missing it. Then saying Bones' pep talk was a good thing because Phil's...

Not All Articles In Golf Digest are Bad

Anyone looking to become a better PLAYER, not a golf swing perfectionist, should read the article on the difference between a scratch player and a Tour pro. Great article and one I'm sure to show some of my students.

A Lesson for all Tournament Players

I dont want sympathy or anything. This is therapy for me before I go beat the living hell out of a tree in my backyard but also I believe it can serve as a lesson for all tournament players. Today was a local qualifier for the US Open. I chose Stonewall in West Virginia because its an...

    Enormous stones

I dont care what anyone thinks of Mickelson, but anyone with enough confidence to have the flag attended from 80yds and then almost fly it in on the last hole of a PGA Tour event has my utmost respect. Thats off the charts skill and what you should expect when you pay for a ticket.

    Tiger Woods

Sorry, another thread about Tiger. But I was just thinking.... Tiger grew up and dominated golf with a slightly strong grip, outward hand path, wide arc and a steep downswing shoulder plane. If he makes the changes he's apparently making work to the point of dominating again (we know he'll win...
