A couple of Trackman questions

I don't have access to flightscope or trackman, our local golf store had driver testing and had the basics spin rates, launch angle and ball speed
I was using a driver and the loft was 10.5 degrees. Most drives had a launch of 13 degrees. Can I extrapolate the angle of attack as 2.5+ degrees.
Or this too simple?

no

Yes, the first one has higher launch and lower spin. Pretty much certain it has more carry.

It depends.

On the launch angle.

So the statement is true for most low-to-mid-iron shots. But as you move towards 9 irons and wedges the lower shot carries further.. think thinned wedge!

Remember if your throwing a ball maximum carry for a given speed is when you launch the ball at 45 degrees.

The golf shot optimum launch is quite a bit lower due to backspin.

We're talking launch angles of about 14,15 degrees.

Two shots:

One with a dynamic loft of 20°, 0° path, 0° face, and a 0° level strike...

...the other with a dynamic loft of 20°, 0° path, 0° face, and a 5° downward strike.

Which goes lower????

The downward one....

The D-Plane strikes again....:D

Unless.....the level strike caused lower then sweetspot contact.:D
