Ball Position for the new release?

While I "know" that ball position is very much a personal preference based on results achieved, i.e. when "I" position the ball in so-and-so position it goes pretty much where "I" expected, I still have to wonder if some of this new information on the release, D-Plane, etc. might proffer up even just a suggestion on where best to place the ball to get the best results.

Considering that it's now established (for those of us 'believers') that the hands are at their lowest point before impact and are moving upwards just before impact (toss in the start the downswing away from the target, the coupling point and and all the other new concepts, catch phrases and nicknames) my non-scientific mind can't help but think that the best place for the ball to sit on the ground when all this new stuff is going on above it may have changed a tad.

I wonder if any of the experiments with TrackMan involve having someone swinging xx number of times but moving the ball around to see what happens at each position.

If the "best" ball positions for best or most consistent/predictable results is an individual thing, I'm ok with that but I do hope that all this new research at least gives a cursory look at ball position just in case it turns out that xxx ball position(s) gives the most people the best chance to achieve a acceptable if not real darn good result.

Simple fellas...............once you know the location of your low point on the plane line, you position the ball for the desired Attack Angle...........that is, the vertical dimension of the bottom of the D Plane. But observing where the clubhead hits the ground is innaccurate, because the low point should normally be ahead of that point, and the ground knocks the clubhead off of its trajectory. So tee the ball up high and make your "new release," or whatever swing your going with, and determine the low point with video..........like this (for great ball-strikers, the low point is, at minimum, a little past the shoulder center)

Probably the best way to find your (any golfer's) best ball position(s) is, just as you suggest, to hit balls on Trackman to find your (any golfer's) best impact results for your desired ball flight for each club.

Guys throw out "just hit balls on Trackman" like it's going to the grocery store for eggs and milk. I don't even think there is a Trackman in the city of Winnipeg(pop. 700k). I know of one teacher who has Flightscope but I don't want a lesson. Time to start saving I guess.

There was a Trackman there conkanen but they had to sell it. Something about clouds of mosquitos interfering with the radar ...

<Joking, of course>

Svenster asked about "scientific" answers for finding the best ball position(s). I wasn't just throwing out the "just hit balls on Trackman". I too do not have easy access to Trackman. Do you have a better idea to answer his question?

Without the objective ball impact conditions you are only left with varying the ball position and go off of what you see with the ball flight, then try to figure out if it was your swing that caused any changes in ball flight or if it was from any change in ball position.

Sorry. I should have prefaced my comment as it wasn't directed at you. Just a frustarion I have.
