I just thought I'd give this thread a bump. Obviously nothing is proven and but the connection cant be ignored. This is how all the other players got caught. It was their connection to suspicious doctors and labs. I was just wondering after two years when I started this thread, do I still look like such an idiot? Does the majority of forum members still think golfers are immune to PED suspicion?

Never thought you were an idiot -I agree 100% Kevin. Hate to say it, but usually, where there is smoke there is fire...

Training hard

Never understood how the world's best golfer could train so hard in the gym...maybe now we know how. How many of you would hit the gym really hard before you played a round of golf that meant something to you?

Again, nothing is proven at all. But the association is how all the other stuff started coming out with BALCO and such. I just have a feeling.

I wouldn't underestimate the value of performance enhancers in golf. All the apologists for baseball players say it doesn't help with hand eye coordination...but explain the surge in power in the 90's. Same with golf.It might not help your short game, but here's a quote from Golf Digest this month: "Small doses of impact drugs- HGH, things like that-...builds explosive muscles, which is what all golfers want."

Kevin, the inventor/scientist of the BALCO stuff, including 'The Clear' point blank stated that every test he did on their stuff, which was basically HGH, showed much improved hand-eye coordination from using it.

That's what baseball apologists love to ignore. Batting averages went up during this time as well and the guy who created it (can't remember his name, he was a big muscular scientist) said it does help with hand-eye coordination.

I'll have to search around for links, but I remember reading this AND hearing the inventor of The Clear say this on ESPN.

Alright, I found it. It was actually on Bob Costas' show 'Costas Now' on HBO where inventor of The Clear, Patrick Arnold, stated that HGH improves hand-eye coordination according to tests. This isn't the particular article that I was looking for, but does back up my claims that Arnold has stated the studies show improved hand-eye coordination from using HGH. I remembered a few years ago that I was surprised more golf pros didn't try HGH to possibly help out with their game, even though there were the health risks.

Patrick Arnold's Shocking Steroid Comments

Arnold also provided some great insight into the frame of mind The Clear sets players in by saying, “The best way I can put it is it puts you in the zone and athletes know what that means. I liken it to an animal that’s, that’s hunting like a lion or something. The way a lion can stand there still and zone in on the kill.”

Costas asked Arnold if he believed that these steroids could not only add power resulting in home runs but also improved hand-eye coordination and bat speed which would result in a greater batting average to which Patrick remarked, “No doubt in mind, that’s what the research shows.” This was very interesting as it shattered the common ideology that steroids can’t help a person hit a baseball.

Next topic --- NWO conspiracies.

Let's all get a life and leave the golf forums alone for one day.... One day!!!

#1 - I have no life in the winter
#2 - You were very critical of me on this topic. I actually hope i dont get to say I told you so, but i'm fairly childish sometime.

NWO conspiracies. What does that mean?
ATTENTION ALL POSTERS: Stop with the shorthand. Is it really that much trouble to just spell it out? OMG,WTF?

The timing of the visits and the fact that HGH does tend to improve recovery from injury is very interesting.

I can understand why people would tiptoe around this subject but to me there is little doubt that Tiger has used a product that would now be considered illegal. I am sure other players have done the same. Tiger's body type simply wouldn't allow putting on that amount of muscle without it and with no laws in place to prevent it, why wouldn't he? They started random testing the week after the US Open 2008, Tiger took a year off for his knee. Probably a coincidence but we don't know. On top of that he is too big to the Tour for Tim Finchem to do anything about it.

I am stirring the pot I know but I don't think I've said anything that outrageous.

BALONEY!!!

I have a pal that weighed 147lbs... He did a HIT type of program and gained 20lbs of muscle in 6 MONTHS!!!

The naysayers will say: Impossible! I LOL...

The swimmer (Torres?) that is linked to the doctor is 40 years old with kids. When these stories come up the athletes deny and then later it all comes out.

While I do not think golf has a big problem the PGA could do itself a huge favor and be proactive about it. I am sure 15 years ago baseball thought it was pure too.
