Beer motion?

I'm a recovering bps'er (below the plane syndrome). Some of my difficulty seems to come not enough up and improper motion with the right elbow: it gets too much behind me. I've recently tinkered with adding some up to the backswing by trying to get my right elbow to move more or less in the way it does when hoisting a beer to mouth. This seems to help and has the added benefit of apparently loading the left wrist much more than I usually do. At least I fee much more pressure on the right thumb.

Question: is this an orthodox motion to add? Is it going to cause trouble down the road?

Thanks.

Only if you drink too much... lol

So, kind of a "flying right elbow", soft drawish? or soft drunkish:D

When I drink beer my elbow floats away too much causing inconsistencies which are magnified as the night goes on. Trackman would say poor attack angle.

Keep the right elbow above the plane it established at address and dont let it slip behind your shirt seam then "tumble" from the top, letting your left arm rotate the club back out in front on top of the plane.

Won't you spill more than you drink that way? ...lol

Kevin,

Any chance you could expand or give a few more details. I've come a long way after some lessons with Brian and Mike J., but BPS with the driver is my last big issue. I can get it going with one of them looking over my shoulder, but have trouble as time lapses from the lesson. Coincidentally, I have recently been messing around with a "high" right elbow, just with the thought that I may be able to stay more on plane. I don't want to keep doing it if it's a bandaid. Thanks,

Bob

Playing the ball up in your stance, showing your armpits via a slightly higher right elbow and rotating your arms as you swing left are a few ideas i would work on.
