Tiger's "Hands Only" Plane

Just an observation:

Tiger is using the "Hands Only" plane angle at impact nowadays.

Would changing a player's natural impact plane angle from elbow-to-hands be just as disastrous as trying to move from turned-shoulder-to-elbow ?
