Did Anyone Watch Rush

I used to work at a club where Rush is a member and he was out there everyday playing so I am going to call bs on that he is a two day a week golfer. I hope it works out for him he was always nice to the golf staff. The golf channel must have a nice budget if Haney is staying at the Breakers the whole time they are taping the show.

A friend of mine belongs to a phenomenal club in Cape Girardeau and played against Rush and his cousin in a member-guest about 4 years ago. (Rush has since joined the club). Said Rush was actually pretty much a "regular guy" and totally opposite his radio and media personality. He asked Rush how they had done after the first day and Rush said," we did ok until we got all vodka'd -up in the last match." Was pretty quiet most of the time but very approachable and conversed wih everyone who wanted to talk to him. I'll probably watch it only because I think Mr. Haney has at least a chance to do something with him as opposed to the previous 2 students. Hard to believe it but I think Rush actually has a more athletic swing than Charles and Ray Romano.

"Said Rush was actually pretty much a "regular guy" and totally opposite his radio and media personality." What would total opposite his radio and media personality be?

I spent some time with him at Michael Irvin's 40th birthday weekend bash(they turned it into a 3 day charity event) he was an awesome guy, lots of fun and when the event was almost over he asked how much they had raised for the charity and it was around $300,000.00 he got out his check book and matched it!
As for the entertainer thing all I will say is that, yes, he is an entertainer but also a shrewd conservative the same way Kieth Olberman is an entertainer (started out at ESPN)but is definitely a staunch liberal. If the reference is to make the inference that Rush doesn't believe what he says, well all I can say is that after 3 days with the man he definitely means what he says.

The second episode was a lot like watching two guys, who don't know what they're talking about, arguing with each other about something neither knows. And neither has a clue that they don't know it.

Yep.

Rush: I just want to know why I miss shots and why the ball goes where it goes? (or something close to that)

Haney: Well, we've only been working together for 2 days and we have to keep working on it.

I hope Haney has explained more off air. But, if that is what TGC is allowing to air, then they are doing him no favors. He could at least give a generic answer or even the "old ball flight laws" to explain.

I agree that last night's episode was a little painful to watch. It seems like they are trying to play up a conflict between Rush and Haney. And Haney's explanation to Rush why he hits shots off the toe and to the right just seemed off the wall to me.

Yep. I loved the "You're too vertical, so you hit it off the toe."

What I meant was that his media personality is a pretty loud/bombastic presentation and in private life he is actually pretty quiet. (as told to me by others, not my personal experience).

Does anyone else here think Rush's downswing is too-vertical?

What is a too-vertical downswing?

What issues can a too-vertical downswing cause?

His method will make Rush worse, just like everyone else on the show. He obviously doesn't have the physical tools to lay it off.

At one point, I thought he was going to make some headway and talk about a tumble like move, but he didn't and how he got to the end result confused me...and I study the golf swing, I can't imagine what his info would do to a casual player.

Yeah, it seems strange to get into that with a guy who plays twice a week and doesnt practice.

When he had him trying to swing between the tees it looked like he was already coming from the inside, not sure why he would try to flatten him out.

"You have to swing it back on the plane so you can get back out to the ball" And I was sitting there like "Really?"

A couple of those shots Rush hit looked liked shanks to me and HH was saying he was hitting it off the toe. I have hit it way on the toe before and they have never gone stright right.

Agreed. Simply one of most ridiculous shows I've ever witnessed.
I had DVR'd it. Fast Forwarded trying to find any instruction. What a joke.
Erased it.

Not sure why the Golf Channel decided to have such a polarizing figure on the Haney project. If Rush is "totally opposite" to his radio personality in real life then that makes him the same as Haney....an overpaid fraud. I seen enough of Haney and his inability to teach during the Romano episodes and I promised myself I will never watch the Haney project again until it becomes the "Manzella Project" :)
