Did Anyone Watch Rush

I'm still trying to figure out who decided to give Mrs. Haney so much on air time. Granted, it's the only redeeming quality of this show, but still. Between this and the homeless guy who is really just a professional mooch, TGC might not be around long.

GUYS!!! GUYS!!! It know it gets lonely in the Winter, but Haney's young wife really ain't "all that". And what's the deal with Rush's teeth? He looks like Barbaro.

Tidbit. I was working away, with the Golf Channel on this morning. Haney show begins. I decided to let it play just for the hell of it. About 15 minutes in, something catches my eye. I go back an zero in on it. Rush is sitting in the cart with Haney objecting to the personal trainer idea. His gloved left hand comes up. The discolored wear spot is gives new meaning to grip it in the palm. It's like 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.

Why would this not be addressed in any serious set of lessons? Answer. Because this is not a serious set of lessons.

Then later on it just looks like he does have it in the fingers, but the grip is flopping around in his left hand wearing out the glove.

Was thinking the same thing about Haney's wife. What is her purpose on this show. I mean, sure she is hot, but this is the golf channel, not Fox.

Hot is a little strong...attractive? Sure.

She is a golfer, not a supermodel. TGC is trying to play with an angle here that is beyond their scope.

She's not a golfer. Storyline is that Hank really, really, wants her to learn to play golf.

I agree with the downgrading of "Hot Ranking". She's a tall blond with an above average face, but not a supermodel face.

Not sure why the Golf Channel decided to have such a polarizing figure on the Haney project. If Rush is "totally opposite" to his radio personality in real life then that makes him the same as Haney....an overpaid fraud. I seen enough of Haney and his inability to teach during the Romano episodes and I promised myself I will never watch the Haney project again until it becomes the "Manzella Project" :)

A fraud?? If he believed the opposite of what he was discussing on the radio that would be a fraud. The fact that he is fairly quiet off-the-air just means he puts a lot of energy into his show, just like any entertainer does. And if Haney hadn't taught Tiger he never would have been on this show to begin with. But we can agree on one thing---Mr. Manzella would have done more in 15 minutes than Mr. Haney will do in whatever number of shows. I watched 2-3 of the Barkley shows, 1 Romano show, and 1 Limbaugh show. Don't tend to watch TGC unless actual golf is on and ONLY watch the Haney show if absolutely nothing else is on.

I remember during the Ramano season Hank was advocating gripping it in the palm. He even talked about getting Tiger to grip it in the palm and how well he was striking the ball after the change...

Yep. Supposedly Tiger was hesitant to try it and when he did he hit the best shot of his life and never looked back.

I have watched all the Limbaugh episodes and just finished the last one this morning. Regardless of one's opinion of Rush's politics, or Haney's instructional abilities, I think that the contrast with Barkley season, or the Milano season couldn't be more clear. After struggling mightily, Rush see's something in a video with lines send home with him by Haney. He starts to see the light. The last 3 episodes clearly show him improving.
The last show was a challenge with a prize if he was able to shoot 85 or lower. Damn if he didn't manage an 83 in the wind on a classy course.

Pretty amazing really.

I watched a few of the episodes and watched the final last night. I agree with you, softconsult, he actually did improve over the course of the show. And shooting 83 with wind, a reasonably difficulty course, and a lot of cameras was amazing. Was actually pretty impressed.

I thought the prizes throughout the round were a cool touch. Well done to both.

I have to wonder though, maybe Rush's biggest physical handicap was his biggest learning asset in this case. Can you turn a cochlear off and on? :)

At some point in the broadcast, he says that he can't really hear what people are saying very far away.
So maybe that does aid him in tuning out.
