Tiger very well has an AofA issue and SF may very well be working on that this morning, lighting up Trackman like a Christmas Tree. But no one, not SF or Tiger Woods can guarantee future success.

That is the next question.

Will they figure out a way that works when it matters?

I see a good story in the works if....

Just a couple of points...

Thru the first three days, Tiger averaged 30 putts per round. Yesterday he had 31. Phil had 26 putts on Sunday and beat Tiger by nine. Do the math. It's not just a putting problem.

I agree its not just a putting problem. But when you miss 7 putts inside 7 feet on a Sunday you don't win a lot of tournaments. That doesn't even include the bombs vintage Tiger would throw in. Again I agree with you that the rest of his game puts more pressure/emphasis on his putter than ever and in turn he misses more shorties than ever.

You can't win missing two putts for par within three feet of the hole in the final round. Regardless of his swing, he is not the same putter.

Tiger is not the only guy using a trackman out there....and even if he were, the greatest player in history needs to have an advantage over the rest of the field to win??

The argument that Tiger only cares about Majors doesn't hold water either. He doesn't tee it up in an event unless he thinks he can win and expects to win. He also likes nothing more than beating Phil, including gamesmanship. Putting out every opportunity he gets so that the crowd starts heading to the next tee. Guess who putted out every opportunity HE had yesterday. Phil. In head-to-head match ups, Phil owns Tiger right now...oh, and Phil doesn't OWN that swing either.

Golf doesn't owe anything to anyone and everyone is working hard this morning and they're all getting better.

It isn't how many putts he had, it's where he missed them from. It can be demoralizing. He negated good shots with piss-poor putting, remember he only took his putter out of the bag for 17 holes, he had an eagle putt on 18 and ended up scraping a 5 footer in for par. I blame his line and speed problems on the abundance of time he spends on his full swing more than Lefty owning him or his self belief crumbling.

If he just wanted to win events he would play in more of them. He doesn't.

Lol at all of this Tiger is done stuff. Listen to Brian folks.

Dude you are a tad hypersensitive when it comes to Tiger. Nobody is saying he is done. At best SOME people are saying his
days of dominating are over. I can't stand the guy personally but I don't believe for a second he's done winning tournaments.
So in summation, Tiger 2000 ain't walking throught that door.

Not at all.

2009 will do.

He has lost the "it" that once it is gone is tough to ever reclaim. He once stood on the top of the mountain and everyone praised him. Everything he touched turned to gold. No one ever dared to question him and no one ever told him no. He, himself beleived he was superhuman and because he had such a strong belief in that, he set a standard that no one felt they could approach. He was also living a lie that only he and his soul knew about for quite some time. When that mountain crumbled so did his spirit. He now knew that everyone else knew his secret and he could not hide. Because of this he has lost the "it" that once separated him. He can try all he wants to become "perfect" with his swing but he has lost something that not even TrackMan can find.

Sounds like you're pretty close with the guy.

Steady decline post Earl.

He will never be be as good as he was because the brainwashing has finally worn off completely. The gig is up.

He does need brainwashing. I don't like that everytime he has a bad putting day he is talking about swinging the putter, releasing the face and the like. That more technical stuff is a long ways from the "putt to the picture" thing he talked about 10+ years ago.

With that said, I agree with Brian that his game is about to take off. I still like his chances on a week to week basis over any other player in the world but I don't think he will be super human as much as he was.
