So, it seems that there are still many in the golf world that LOVE bent Left Wrists at the top of the backswing.

Phooey!

Gotta admit ever since I discovered the forum and promoted a flat left wrist at top in my swing, I've hit the ball so much better. My only problem is I tend to get it arched at top sometimes. Do you think an Arch left wrist position at the top of backswing promotes a draw or a fade? I've heard people argue both.

BigBadDonkey, i would guess a fade. All i can tell you is for the first 4 months this year i hit a lot of snap hooks off the tee with my cupped left wrist. Since working on the getting it flat i've lost the hook and eliminated the left side. I can now easily hit a push fade so i have to guard against that. A well struck drive for me now has a gentle draw but i'm not totally flat at the top, getting there though.

I always could never hit it with a flat wrist. I could hit is solid but wayyy left all the time.

I think if you're used to having a bent left and always flipping it into impact, it is tough to get out that extra compensation (that hard right hand drive through impact). You have to learn to mash down on the ball more (inside corner of the ball) with your left wrist.

I've made the change now though and will not go back. It just makes sense.

Ahahahahah I get it. I was wondering if this was gonna be on iseekgolf.

Good job Brian.

Manzella rides again! (love that line hehe, makes me laugh)

Birdie_man....remember if your grip is semi strong your wrist is going to be 100% totally flat...there will be "some" cup to it due to the grip.

I know when i get my semi-strong grip really flat i'll snap hook it because i'll hit the ball with too closed of a face, combined with roll equals snappers.

You need to learn to take your grip and check your alignment with the face in a HORIZONTAL plane comparing the face to your wrist and forearm.

Ya know....

People are soooooooooo closed minded.

Not me.

Listen, debate, argue, debate internally, question, get on a plane, learn, go home, experiment, theorize, question, figure it out for myself, go on.

.....That's why they'll NEVER catch me.....;)

I use a neutral grip. I just always kinda swiveled all the way through my swing and was used to having to really roll my hands over at the ball. Wasn't used to mashing down on it. I am now and it's great. Compression.

Thanks. I think I play my best golf with a ever so slight arched wrist.
