I also had trouble playing the vid at first, and got the same error code.
I went to quicktime and downloaded the new player, after that there was no sound in any vid i looked at using quicktime.
To solve that problem, i went to control panel (win xp pro), clicked on the quicktime logo, quicktime preferences screen came up, i went to audio section and adjusted the Khz rate, works fine now.
