Is drinking beer legal in a tournament?

There is this guy that always lose in the front 9, so He starts to drink a few beers.

He instantly became a better player, shooting like a pro.

Now, is this is something that we should allow?

I understand that drinking can make you more relax and feel no pressure. Therefore I think he's playing better. He also admits that after he drinks he feels more relax.

Maybe i should start snorting cocaine on the first hole.

Bar Par

I play with a guy who cannot break 80 without the juice. With it, he shoots 66-73 consistently. He even drinks during the state am. It's bull sh!t and no one will do anything about it. It's one of the greatest forms of cheating. There is another guy who is consistently plays well in state type am events and has been seen tossing his coin closer to the hole. I see no difference between the two. Despicable.

I played with the coin toss kid and he knew I was watching him like hawk, so he did not do it. That takes some energy to have to be a rules cop in a tourney. The booze dude is already hammered before he tee's it up, so there is nothing anyone can do.

As far as I know alcohol is not prohibited by the rules of golf. As for WADA, alcohol (ethanol) is banned for all driving/flying and shooting sports, nine and ten pin bowling, and karate. Alcohol consumption while playing tournament golf is not banned by WADA.

What's nine pin bowling? What no drinking, driving and shooting? What are the NBA/NFL guys going to do in the off season or on their days off during the season?:)

I'll be honest, I often play very well when I'm drinking. I have had two course records, and was drunk for both of them. That being said, I don't drink in our local PGA sanctioned events (actually a rule that I instated on this tour), and only end up drinking in my own course's Pro-Am each year, where it's encouraged.

I don't think it should be allowed in competitive golf events. If an event wants to have a more social atmosphere, allow it.

I had never even considered doing this in serious competition. I've had beers during scrambles but never in serious competition, though I'm one of the few who play worse after a few drinks.

The "swing lube" isn't allowed in state or PGA tournaments down here, but it happens anyway. It's BS they aren't called on it (everyone knows who it is).

I don't get how the coin tossing can make u play better Lindsey?

Dude is first to hit. Dude hits shot on green and moves quickly to green. Dude is 30 to 40 yards ahead of everyone in group or maybe everyone in group is helping another playing partner look for ball. Dude had hit his shot to 15 feet. Dude bends over like he is marking his ball and in one motion flicks a PENNY to 8 feet and picks up his ball. Everyone can make more 8 foot putts than 15 foot putts, so that's how it makes you score better.

Finally someone who understands! Booze improves hand-eye coordination, reaction time and decision-making abilities. I keep telling it to the judge but he refuses to believe me. This time the ignorant prick threw me in jail for 30 days and suspended my license for a year. I explained to the douche that I was driving home from my club championship - I won it after pounding a 6 pack at the turn - and that I felt a little unsteady driving home so I stopped at a 7-11 to pick up a 12-pack for the ride. I just couldn't find the groove without it. Man, I was driving so good, I was unstoppable. That kid on the bike I nearly ran over? Little shit got what he deserved. And that fricking Mini Van with the handicap plates strolling along in the fast lane - you should have seen how close I came to hitting it as I cut it off while giving the driver the bird. I couldn't miss! I was so close to bringing it home, so entering my neighborhood I decided to cut off the hairpin right-turn and cut through my neighbor's yard and I gotta say, I nailed it - I probably shaved 150 yards off my trip. Too bad he's a cop that can't comprehend the magical powers of fermented hops, barley and wheat. Need more proof of my unbelievable alcohol-fueled super powers? This post was made courtesy of a fifth of Johnnie Walker Black. Itallian Stallion my ass!

Been playin this game 22 years and i have never heard of that. Crazy.

The person doing this would be tough to catch. I can think of many times when I could have done something like this. I'm driving the cart.
Partner takes his club and putter saying he will walk up. I'm up there around the green before any of the other three arrive. They can't see what I'm doing. I have never done it, but can easily see how it's possible.
