Aly Trompas was a top amateur in California back in the 80's (he won the US Junior Am in 1969 and was an Honorable Mention All American at Stanford), and he sipped beer as he played in many tournaments.

Most of the players in the tournament are drunk. And they dont really do care about the things. But being conscious really helps you.

Anything that dulls nerves in competition should be restricted. It just another way to cheat.
