Just an observation on my part, but most Tour players look more closed to my eye. If toe up at parallel to the ground on the backswing is opened up 90% from square at address, then most Tour players are much less than 90* (or less open) at that point in the swing.
Tom Watson is an advocate of having the clubface face the ball more or slightly shut going back with at least a two knuckle showing left hand grip for most hackers.
Watch a video of Brian Manzella in one of his clips where the camera is behind him. That clubface (iron) is facing the ball for quite awhile going back (more shut) which is much less than 90* opened on his backswing.
IMO most Tour players do not roll their forearms (opening clubface) and take the club back in what would be called more closed.
