Lia's Swing Sequence Collection

I am asking questions about the relative movement of the rotational versus upwards/downwards motion of the shoulders. One of the concepts within TGM is that the right shoulder moves down plane. I , like many others i presume, used to get my right shoulder going down to soon... trying to go down plane... incorrectly... in most pro's swings the vertical height movement of the right shoulder seems to come later ... nearer impact...( compare Hogan 5 and 6 below - there appears to be more early rotation rather than vertical height movement of the shoulders

Great post. I did the same thing.

lia - Can you post all swing sequences in one thread?

Not sure if anyone else feels the same way, but the entire first page is full of swing sequences (which I happen to find valuable). As a suggestion, maybe combine them in one "swing sequence" thread, or add a new forum section titled "swing sequences."

Just my $.02

Would love to hear your take on this Brian. Really. I was an active particpant on a tennis forum/site called TennisPlayer and found the discussions to be much more directed and convincing than the ones here. I don't think you can overstate the importance of visual evidence in learning athletic manuvers--of course, there's the "parallax problem" in golf...Hopefully you will talk more on that someday as well.

golfwolf--Spot on. I really regretting cluttering the pages here. I should have done that. Hopefully one of the mods can make this change?

I remember Brian did a video on this very subject. Sure someone can find the link for it. I recall the question related to Sergio in the fact that during his downswing sequence his left shoulder momentarily drops lower than the right. It relates to maximum participation stroke. Best view the video for Brians explanation.

Tiger Woods 2007 Iron Swing Sequence

Compiled from Tiger's 2 best ball striking rounds this year--2nd round @ the PGA (1st, 2nd, and 6th pictures), 3rd round at the U.S. Open (pictures 3-5).

...

Referring more to the height of the right shoulder between images 5 and 7.

Strange you should mention this gbd..

I haven't been contacting the ball very cleanly recently (tend to swing too much inside)..

Yesterday in a "what the hell" moment I changed my downswing focus (after initiating weightshift) from "right shoulder under-and-up" to "right shoulder AROUND," to where where my left shoulder was at address...

Instant improvement in distance and accuracy, and feeling of strike....:)
