Lynn,

You were HARDLY the only no-show.

I fully understand why you didn't go. The house wasn't on my best side either....but....

DOZENS of guys who COULD have been there, weren't there.

ALL of those guys that have LEARNED from Ben should have been there, all of the guys who LEARNED from Homer should have been there.

The "house" did a really good job.

But, if Phil McGleno can invent MORAD out of thin "yellow" air—and get hundreds to 'buy the kool-aid,' then you will have little trouble off the reservation with better info.

... I teach all patterns and component variations when needed, not just the ones in the 6th edition.

The Basic Stroke Patterns of the 6th Edition are 'jumping off' places. Unlike the Sample Stroke Patterns of the earlier editions, they are not ends in themselves. Homer's stated intent was that they be customized by the advanced player, especially for Power (miniaturized and maximized).

You should have heard my talk, Lynn.

I basically put to rest the REAL VALUE of TGM in the real world.

Agreed.

But they were not.

Why?

Good question!

BRIAN MANZELLA'S TOP TEN REASONS WHY THERE WERE 200 NO-SHOWS AT THE TGM SUMMIT</u>

1. They see their 'brand' and The Golfing Machine, LLC's 'brand' as competitors.
2. They don't own the The Golfing Machine, LLC
3. They don't really care about The Golfing Machine, LLC's future. They learned from it and are now on to the next thing.
4. Too far.
5. Too little notice.
6. Too big to associate with 'peons' like the Itallian Stallion.
7. Not enough brownie points from the 'boss.'
8. Not enough cash.
9. They were merging.
10. They were "guarding Titliests."

Thanks, Brian, for this well thought-out post.

When I was a cub salesman so many years ago, I learned there were two reasons why the man didn't buy: The reason he stated and the REAL reason.

You have given ten -- not two -- reasons why there were 200 no-shows at the TGM Summit.

And now...

The REAL reason?

I hope after the holidays everyone can take another look at the Summit and see that it can't be given over to one faction with one point of view. Every organization needs its radicals and revolutionaries to stir the pot or it slowly dies. I hope the passion doesn't die from its biggest supportors. All of them.

OK, Lynn...what do YOU thimk the real reason is?

Because there is no vision.

There is no vision that recognizes and addresses the self-interest of all parties -- the consumer, the Instructor and the owner.

There is only TGM, LLC, and its myopic view.

And that is not enough.

I respectfully disagree.

That might have got you and your followers, but the west coast gang, the Hebron's, Cook's, etc. wouldn't come unless there was dancing girls.

No product.

No salesman.

No sale.

What is Joe Daniels' long term vision for TGM?

What is the master plan? What is the road map for getting there? What has come out of the Summit that is going to make it happen? What do the other AIs get out of putting in an "all for one " effort?

The significance is not "who didn't come", it is "who wasn't allowed to come". What's up with this "exclusivity" thing anyway? And what law says that only one guy can call a meeting of ANYONE who uses TGM as a teaching tool or just bought the book and reads it?
