Sorry to hear this...

Brian,

I'm truly sorry to hear this. As a fellow Lakeview native (28 years) who was caught up in the Katrina mess as well, I understand what you and your wife are going through. In some respects we will get past this, but in others, we will have to cope with this forever. We all know that. This site is a testament to your generosity. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

John M.

P.S. - I assume that you had flood insurance and know about ICC coverage - correct? This coverage could be applied to your rebuilding efforts.

Needing help

I'm a contractor in the St.Louis area.I would be happy to help.Spider is right, when disaster strikes an area the shottycontractors come from everywhere a try to take advantage of people.Nothing worse than being a victim twice in a disaster.Brian call me and lets talk and get this right.Eric

start the list... lets help the man who has helped us and has asked for nothing in return. Brian, you are going to have to set up a paypal account and give us the information. People want to help you just like you want to help others.

Best of luck in your rebuilding. All my prayers to a guy who has been instrumental in my development as a player and a teacher. Where's the paypal?

I'm not exactly sure but when I took a lesson from Brian I paid for it through his paypal account on the website. Brian hang in there and all will turn out.

I talked to Brian today about the fact that so many of you want to help him out. He didn't feel right about taking money for nothing (unlike his contractor) and said he would make a video for all those who "contributed". I am sure he will go into further detail about the video when he gets the chance. I am affraid things are worse then they originally seemed. His time for his forum is limited at the moment , and believe me that is killing him.

Tom- how are they worse. How can I help? As far as taking something for nothing...first of all it's not nothing. Secondly, maybe it's just a karma payback. Brian has generously given to others and now some of it might be just coming back to him.

Hello folks,

It is heartwarming to see the support many of you are offering me at this time. I wasn't fishing for any assistance when I wrote this thread starter a couple of days back. I was just "confessing" to my congregation, on why my sermons have been limited.

This is my "place of business," and I like to be here every day, adding my thoughts and hard-earned knowledge to the discussions. Like Tom said, my lack of time that I have had available for a couple of weeks, has been very limited.

Since Katrina, my wife Lisa and I have been living at her parents house in Reserve, Louisiana. I know guys who couldn't have lasted a week at their in-laws, but, in my case I have been incredibly blessed—I love my in-laws and get along with them great. They have—and do—spoil me, unlike any son-in-law I have ever heard of. They are the very best.

Since we decided very soon after Katrina, that we would knock down the "flood house" and rebuild, we thought we'd be in Reserve for about a year, 18 months max.

"The Lord works in mysterious ways."

It has been over two and a half, and it'll be a couple of more. But, it turns out, that delay has been a blessing as well. A couple of months ago, my Father-in-law, Mr. Jean Marse, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He began treatments a few weeks ago, and every report has come back very well. The docs say it is confined to a very small area, Mr. Jean has done great with his treatments, and everyone around here is very upbeat. Obviously, we are trilled to be close to him and be there if we are needed. Folks, nobody has a better Father-in-law than me.

The reason I have included this "additional" information in this post, is because I want all of you, my great friends, to understand that my time has been limited by way more important things than just a silly house. Money is just money, health is health, and family is family, and there is just no comparison. None.

Me and Lisa will find a way to get through the house situation. No idiot contractor is stopping me. I've had an army to fight in my business for 25
years, and little did I know how much it was preparing me for becoming a part-time "builder." Your little Italian friend's first week on the job, finishing his house was this week, and I did pretty good.

Anyhoo, the offers of financial assistance are very generous, and will help us, no doubt. But, I am used to working for my money, and in this case, I will as well.

I got the idea from watching PBS, the Public Broadcasting System's, fundraising efforts. They put a program on the air, that promotes a Video of something lots of folks would want, and then "sell" it for a donation amount.

So, I will film a Special Video for the "Friends of Manzella," that will include some MANZELLA MATRIX Short Game, Putting, the "Soft Draw" pattern, and the basis for the Manzella Matrix system, as well as some information on research I have done and some I am doing.

Cost will be $100 and will include web-access and a DVD.

The folks who have donated already will receive this special dvd as well.

I promise there will be way more than $100 of information in the video.

Thanks,

Brian :)
