I don't post much, just sit back and listen and learn. Brian there is so much more to learn from you than golf. What a fine example you are of attitude and having your priorities straight. Hope to meet you some day.

Brian - although I would love ANY video that you make, I would prefer to make a donation to help you out so that the money will be a tax-free gift rather than taxable income. More bang for the buck.

Hello folks,

It is heartwarming to see the support many of you are offering me at this time. I wasn't fishing for any assistance when I wrote this thread starter a couple of days back. I was just "confessing" to my congregation, on why my sermons have been limited.

Brian, I think you know from our conversations that I'm a pretty big Woody Hayes fan. While he was clearly a different guy, and somewhat explosive :), he said and did a lot of "right" things. One thing he often preached to both his players and OSU fans was paying forward. He always said you just can't pay back, because often times the folks you'd like to pay back aren't there. He said we should concentrate on paying forward. Try to help someone you don't owe anything to, and if everyone adopted that idea, this would be a much better world.

Well, maybe you've been "Paying Forward" for years, and the reactions in this thread are because of that.

Please know Mr. Jean is also in my thoughts and prayers.

My lesson has been booked. More to follow after Christmas bonus is received.

The response here has been awesome. Of anyone who has gone above and beyond to provide his time and premium information free of charge, Brian is surely at the top. He has truly been a friend to us. Come on, whose next?

You've got a great attitude Brian! Have fun at the TGM summit. Looking forward to the video, and hope my donation helps a little. We'll all be keeping your father-in-law in our prayers.

Glad to be part of this forum family

Brian,

I've made a contribution. I really feel that it's the least that we can do for you, as you have always been so generous to all of us. I wish good health to your entire extended family.

To all of my fellow forum members, it is heart-warming to read the expressions of support and concern.

Good luck Brian, I'm sure you'll get through this just like other obstacles you have overcome in the past. What you give us here is worth much more than $100 and one day you'll get your turn "at the microphone", and we'll all be able to say we knew you back in the day!

I hope you and your family have a happy and healthy 2008.

Count me in.

I have benefitted from lessons from Brian but also from a great forum where I've learned more about golf in the past six months than in the past ten years.

Count me in as well but I agree with bew69. Is there a way you can set up a separate relief fund so that it could be a tax-free donation? I will contribute either way. You have always been so generous with your time and advice, it's good to see so many offer a little well deserved pay-back.

Count Me In

As I see it, "count me in" and "I'm in" means your money is in the account established in post#41.

I am headed down to NOLA next week with my wife and two sons to spend a week building houses in the musicians village with Habitat for Humanity. I wish we could help your house.

I guess there's no way for you to set this up for charitable(tax deductible) donation so contribution sent via Paypal. You've always been generous with your time and advice, so here's an opportunity for your faithful following to give a little back. Best of luck and hope you have a happy holiday season.

I'm in. Just found this site a couple months ago. Wish I would have found it when I started playing last year. I've yet to find any golf teaching professional (including the various instructors I've been to) who is willing to give out instruction or knowledge free of charge; and to do it day in and day out. I need some new video content anyways. :D

Only a newcomer to BM stuff but already I´ve got tons of valuable info from our big-hearted host. So some euros are on their way from the frozen North.
