Your going to need to get a thick skin around here, if you make comments your going to get attacked, thats just this site, people have their opinions. I was attacked when I first got here for saying I thought you should hit up on the driver for better distance, wow did I get hammered....no hard feelings.

I don't mind being wrong. I learn best when I participate in a discussion/thread. I can't help it really. I enjoy learning about this great game. What does really piss me off though is when someone questions my integrity and character. Im not speaking of you either Matt, someone else that posted in the thread. Sorry to disturb your thread and your search for knowledge. Peace.

It's not an "attack", maybe you are just very very smart. Your first post was like on 1/26/09 and I think you didn't even have clubs yet. 2 days later you start making posts like this:

"I would think that would help alot...plus messing around with different hinge actions might help. Make sure the blade is working properly for your stroke pattern. If you are a "straight back and straight through" king of guy, maybe you have too much reverse roll going through. If you "Arc it" maybe not enough "full roll" going through the ball. Basically, check how the shaft is working and move the head in the proper way to YOUR stroke.

VJ"

Maybe you can explain.

I read/learn very fast and I started reading in November. Thats my explanation..I hope this clears it up for you..now back to Matt.

Good job not mentioning any names, would hate to single out that "guy". He really pissed me off too! JK JK :)

PS Ohio State is going down this year!

PSS Congrats on your quick learning

Thats ok, no thread EVER sticks to the original subject, the really good ones turn into soap operas and all the lurkers get to get entertained by some of the more outspoken people, I just happened to be a supporting actor in this one.

I am going to do a couple thousand mirror swings tonight with really rotating the left arm and hopefully Brian posts his travel schedule soon because my wife has already taken two weeks of July for family vacation, my luck that will be when Brian comes to Michigan.

I am gonna hold ya to it and you HAVE to fix my "blip" and yes delete! Get that schedule out as soon as you can, my wife is already booking camping trips for the family and we all know family comes before golf!

Yes I know it looks kinda like a chicken wing and a flip but it really is not, its caused by a lack of arm rotation and not folding the left arm. If you look at just past impact the club is still straight with my left arm and if it was a flip it would be past my left arm but I agree it looks horrible. Here's a little better arm rotation but not much. SwingAcademy.com CAUTION A DIFFERENT SWING

I have always struggled with rotating the arms.

Sorry Matt but it still looks to me in both clips as if you are trying to simply shovel the ball up off the carpet and sling it over your left shoulder by pivot action alone. Your club head has passed your hands before low point and without you ever getting to both arms straight.

I don't see how this can change until you start to drive your straightening right arm down and out to low point, beyond and into your follow through. This alone will keep your left arm straight longer and prevent you from chicken winging.

A good place to start (IMHO) would be by getting your right elbow and hip to the divorce court. Whilst these body parts remain locked in their loving embrace you wont ever get really down and out to both arms straight.

The right arm has to fully straighten post impact before the left folds up and away in the follow through.

Fixed!!!

I went for my third lesson the other day and was hitting the ball great but still had the "blip". We talked about it and looked at it on camera and I was not flipping and in fact I was doing the opposite of flipping, no right hand addition, I was just trying so much to not flip that I never used my right hand. For so long I have heard people say "He flips, she flips, they all flip" that I wasn't going to be one of those "flippers" so I just simply didn't use my right hand at all. My swing now is what I call in three parts, first I take the club back with my arms and shoulder turn then I feel like I only use my hips to get the club back down to waist height and then I feel like I pour on the right hand hard and its that simply, blip gone. I was trying to rotate my arms but in reality all I needed was right hand addition and the arms rotate by themselves when I do that.

I also have been messing around with a snap release but the consistency is not there for me, I do hit it a touch further that way but I feel my misses are much bigger than when I use a random release.

I am sure some will want to see video proof and I will try to get some shot, I have a new camera coming, a sony, maybe I will be able to use the 3 sec. super slow motion feature.

Also, thanks to ALL for comments, I appreciate your time to take a look at my swing. Now its time to get that short game in order.
