Thanks for the responses, but to clear up a couple things...
I do not generally practice in the net. It's at my office and is a easy quick way for me to catch some video and double check what I am working on.
THAT' S GOOD.
I do not consciously try to either pause at the top or keep my eye on the ball past impact. I personally believe the 'pause' is more of a residual effect of the lateral move (or lack of lower body rotation) to start the downsing.
I DIDN'T SAY CONSCIOUSLY- AND WHATEVER THE CAUSE- YOU SHOULD WORK ON IT.
As for the style, I guess I will work on that.
I guess I do not really understand this point,
THAT'S THE PROBLEM AND THE PURPOSE OF THE POST aren't we all trying to better control our swings and by consequence the ball?
Thanks for the suggestion, I wish I could play more than once a week, unfortunately now it's about once every two... But, I will say that in the short time since Jim has addressed this topic I have been to the range a few times and by concentrating on his drill and opening the lower body and the sequence of hips, hands, club a lot of the ills I see in my sewing seem to go away. It will be a struggle to firmly ingrain the changes needed given the amount of time I have to work on it, but I have hit a number of shots since that I like to think Jim would characterize as well struck and seen what a difference there is, so with that and my belief that I am working on the right mechanics, I will definitely stick it out through the process. So thanks again and thanks to Jim for all the help.
Happy Golfing!
