Job Description: Tiger Woods swing coach

Goal of job: Return student to #1 player of all time

Pay: None

That's right Tiger.

I don't want any money. And besides, I think I can do it in a day.

You need help, and I am not sure if you know where to find it.

But I am the guy.

Why am I the guy?

Well, just like you, I am the best at what I do.

And what is that, exactly?

Fix golfers without overhauling things that don't need it.

I know EXACTLY what to fix on you, and nobody else is going to do it correctly. It gives me the hives thinking about some goofy method teacher making matters worse.

I am NOT a method teacher.

I'm easy to get on touch with, and I will gladly sign a confidentiality agreement not to tell a soul not living under my roof.

Why would I do this?

Well, if I wasn't so cocky, I could have got the job when you were 15 and I had dinner with your Dad at Warren Davis' (Nakia's Dad) house.

We have both learned a lot since then, and now the time is right.

Why would you hire me?

If you call me, and talk golf swing with me for 10 minutes, you'll send the plane.

I'll bet you dinner at NOLA on that.

What's in it for me?

Well, Tiger, you are good for golf, and when you play better, everyone makes more money.

After I have you beating the shat out of everyone again, you can tip me out if you think it was worth it.

It will be.

How would you fix him? Lets say Tiger likes his pitch elbow and wants to keep it

How would you fix him? Lets say Tiger likes his pitch elbow and wants to keep it

From another thread:

If Tiger came to me I would STRENGTHEN HIS LEFT HAND GRIP to slightly stronger than neutral, and get his hand path more in with a TOTALLY NON-LAID OFF top-of-the-backswing position, and a less arched left wrist at the top.

I think that would do it.

But, if he needed to make the downswing fit with that backswing fix, it wouldn't be too hard.

Brian, I love it!!

After the Players he'll have 4 weeks off until the Memorial. Have someone call his agent and set it up!

Ready for the call from Tiger.

I have no problem with his pitch elbow.

I'll even keep his right elbow down at the the top if he can't stand to part with it.

But a bunch of alignments and sequences are really off. They need fixing.

a tip from tiger? unlikely...haha

No problem.

Like I said, no charge.

WOW...EXTREMELY confident words there. Good for you...better watch out for ALL those "METHOD" teachers.

Let's see.

I fix guys with WAY BIGGER flaws than Tiger all the time. And they have 1/10th the talent.

Not that confident. More like, "Hey Brian, can you fix my friend the slicer?"

Yup. It'll take less than 15 minutes.

And as far as watching out for "method" teachers...I am watching...but I ain't seeing much.

What's a "method" teacher?

A teacher that teaching the same pattern or two to everyone.

And instead of thinking that THEY told the player the wrong thing if it doesn't go well, they think, "Now which spot/line is my player missing..."

Brian, I love it!!

I'm serious.

I just want to fix the guy, and be done with it.

I think it could be inside of a dozen balls....

Really.

Also Tiger, Brian can debunk that 1 plane swing/parallel plane nonsense, why exactly you hit that dead block to the right, and back up his work with actual science. We know you're a Stanford guy who is supposed to be on the forefront of understanding science and it's relation to the game of golf, now you have an instructor for it.

I have forwarded that on to the Tiger Woods website.

I hope he sees it as I cannot stand to see the world number one not be able to hit fairways

How can you return someone to where they've never been (#1 of all time)?:)

You may've had a chance until you mentioned "tip". Unless there's a pole involved, that just doesn't happen.

Personally, I would much rather see you hands on with the near future #1. He's also great for the game, he appreciates outside-the-box thinking, and he absolutely takes care of his team. A win/win for all. Besides, wouldn't you rather be a part of beating "the best"? Tiger will never be as good as he was 10 years ago - he's peaked, and Harmon gets to wear that feather in his cap. The new future #1 has yet to play his best stretch of golf - I'd much rather be part of helping that happen than helping the other guy return to where he's been with Harmon.

The golfing public needs to see this global Haney Project continue to crash and burn. It's a great spotlight and PSA for the dangers of method teaching. Fixing the most talented guy on the planet, where's the accomplishment in that – it’s already been done before. On the other hand, fixing the guy who "would never win a major playing like that", who "would never win another after Winged Foot", and who's never been #1 would have to be much more satisfying.

Team Tiger seems like only a place for the meek of mind. Signing all those confidentiality agreements, kissing the ring, toeing the company line, I just cannot see the B Man playing the role of Yes Man. It would never be just for a day, if he did take to it, you would “owe” them – that’s how the mafia works.

I’m all for you helping #1, just the other one. :D

What's the over/under on the number of poor finishes before Tiger dumps Hank?

He's still dealing with the uncertainty regarding his family situation. The time away from the game has to be an issue. He's still in image-repair mode. Dumping Hank might be construed by outsiders as shifting the blame.

I would love to see Brian get a crack at Tiger. Even though I've never met him, his instruction on this forum and in the videos has raised my game to another level.

How do you all honestly see it playing out?

Tiger really will not be fixed until he regains some sort of family life, whatever that might be.
Then he will or hopefully Brian will fix his swing and play like he used to play.
This may take years.
By then there will be one or two world beaters out there to challenge him.

.

Why do you think he works with Haney ? Or do you know why he does?

i don't know Brian. If he were ever to take you up on this and undoubtedly be fixed, word would get out even more on you. This would leave you even busier than you are now, and how could you fit all of us in? At some point, I WILL get down there to see you, but if you're even more famous and in demand, it will make it next to impossible. Hope your rates wouldn't go up to compete with the other 'name' teachers.

I mentioned this in another thread. I hope Tiger can hang on, at least until Brian gets West (Arizona?).

:D

Even with the Haney swing, Tiger did better than anyone else. No doubt Brian would make his swing better, but would he be dominant again? I think last year was a watershead. At the PGA, some guy who won one tournament beat him with the type of shots Tiger would hit. I figured even at 18 at Hazeltine Tiger would win by birdieing the last hole while the other guy bogeyed. The reverse occurred. That tourney was not golf swing issues, largely Tiger putted worse than usual. Basically Tiger had his facade ripped away completely and emotionally it has to be difficult. What he should do is suspend all endorsements, commit to putting all prize money into his foundation and dump IMG. Whoever did that Nike commercial with his Dad's voice should be fired as well. Replace the pit bull caddie with a nice old guy like Fluff and act like Hogan or Nicklaus on the course. No emotion, tip of the cap at the end of the tourney. No press conferences, interviews... I think it is a mental issue as much as physical. Do any of you play well when the wife finds out you have been fooling around with 121 women, whether you over-rotate the left arm flying wedge or not?
