Looks like my year has ended early....My 6 year old likes to come down in the night and slip into my and my wife's bed, I carried him back to bed and didn't bother turning the lights on and I fell down the stairs landing on my wrist. It was a little sore but I didn't think much of it. I went and played golf the next day and my wrist really started to hurt, especially when I either pronated or supinated. I had a local tournament I wanted to play in that weekend and tried to play through the pain but it kept getting worse and I started really to lose some distance on all my clubs, I was atleast a good club to club and a half shorter. I barely finished the tournament because the pain was getting so bad, I went to the doctor and got xrays and nothing was broke but he said I injured some ligaments Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex (TFCC) Injuries | eorthopod.com , he put me in a brace, I think I am going to need to see a specialist.

Anybody dealt with this type of wrist injury?

Yep, have it in both wrists originally injured from playing baseball in college and exacerbated while practicing chiropractic for 7 years--had to change primary professions due in part to the injuries. I have not elected to have surgery yet since they only really flare up a few times a year now and I can get by with just a compression athletic taping job. If it bothers me more frequently, I would definitely consider surgery. You need to make sure how bad the tear is and if or how much instability has resulted.

Man that sucks. I fell down our stairs last year. Fortunately I landed on my head so I did not hurt anything important.
Get well soon.

That really sucks man!!!

Thakfully I don't have any personal experience with this Matt, but I just wanted to wish you all the best on a speedy recovery

Welcome to the invalid golfers club here on the forum, though I wish you wouldn't have joined. The PUP list is getting longer and longer :(

To all others, there is no fun in being part of this club, it is boring and we all smell (at least my foot in my aircast does), so don't think
of joining us!

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the well wishes...I have been reading a lot about this injury and it seems like many of the people who get TFCC injuries don't ever fully recover this has me a bit concerned…. I have thought about quitting the game in the past due to frustrations but now that the game has been taken from me, those previous thoughts were ludicrous, I guess it’s time to get out the fishing pole.

Hate to hear that, Matt. I dealt with that about 16 months ago. Pretty severe in the right wrist and a little less in the left. My ortho had me try something that he'd been using on a daily basis, and said it has kept him from having surgery. I have never been one to like/us topical ointments for these kinds of things, but the stuff he prescribed was like magic (all be it steroid magic) in a tube. It took care of the pain and inflammation, and I haven't had any issues at all in the wrists for nearly a year.

Ask you doc to get you a script for this stuff. I swear by it, and know of 2 other people who've had equally good results with it too.

Thanks Mike, I will definitely get a script for the magic cream.
