The STRAIGHTER line you take to the ball, the more SNAP you are likely to have.
Just when I thought that the application of angular momentum against the inertia of the clubhead caused a stressed shaft (lag) you go and confuse me.quote:Originally posted by MizunoJoe

By dropping the shaft to a flatter plane, the redirected clubhead increases lag.

I think you can get more clubhead lag by shifting to the shaft plane from the turned shoulder plane.

Guys - both Hogan and early Garcia dropped the club behind themselves. The clubhead has to travel further to get to the ball, and in a downward direction before moving down the approach plane, whether the elbow or address plane, which produces more lag. Watch and learn.
