In the U.S.:

As far as physical medicine, it is called a physiatrist in the U.S., I worked one pro beach volleyball(AVP) weekend as a chiropractic intern and Sten Kramer, M.D. was the physiatrist traveling with the tour.

I don't know if the above have done any golf specific research, but they are involved with many athletes.

I would also agree with Sten Kramer, M.D. as a PMR specialist. He's located in Newport Beach, CA. If you need an introduction contact me. I grew up with him and his wife. Great guy, went to Stanford, good athlete himself. He's treated all sorts of professional athletes (even professional bull riders).

Essential D-Plane

For me this was a rare BM video that was not “crystal” probably the math but another viewing helped. What is recommended for controling the clubface--grip or with swing mechanics?

For the project, hopefully the final product contains a Manzella-Jacobs strength--video.

I think you mean Bob Mann, not Jeff Mann.

Other people that have done research on golf: The Kerlan-Jobe group has researched the golf swing, particularly with upper body. The University of Pittsburgh has also done a lot of golf related research. Stuart McGill out of Canada could be the expert on how the back operates, he probably knows more of how the back works in sports than anyone else.

I can't wait for the book to come out and have complete faith that you and Mike will contact the appropriate people to get the information that is needed.

Best of luck.

Brian,

This is exceptional news for the entire golfing community. I can assure you I will be in line to get my 1st edition. I hope you don't mind if I bring it to have autographed when I get to see you for a lesson.

Michael Jacobs and I just found out we have received the funding—both foreign and domestic—for a project the backers have dubbed "Project 168."

After speaking to several attendees at the ANTI-SUMMIT, the two groups contacted us, and have requested:

A book that explains the ball-club collision, ball flight, math models, and biomechanics, and classifies the possible elements that would produce tour quality golf swings.

They want the explanations in very understandable volume, that can be easily updatable.

They want us to start right away.

They also want very little leaks from the findings, but will allow us some to help promote our business.

We will keep you folks as updated as we can...

We are very excited.

Well, this is going to be a staggering task, but I'm excited that the right guys are going to be doing it.

Each of the subjects above could fill numerous volumes all by themselves. Gathering the data is the easy part. Constructing a layout such that the right elements of each subject are touched with the right emphasis, and are easily understood and can be used by the layman, will take pure genious.

Just don't become over-ambitious with the first edition. If you guys concentrate on creating a format that can be easily updated as your info/data/insights develop, the book will live a long and prosperous life. If you try to turn the first edition into the golf swing Rosetta stone, it will turn into the Titanic and you will never finish it.

Good luck and may the force be with you.

This seems like very good advice.

Brian, do I get a prize for guessing right what 1.68 stood for?;)
