Sequenced Release for Swingers

I am having a bit of confusion on the timing of accumulator release during the swing. It is my understanding that, for the three barrel swinger, the release sequence is 4,2,3.

Number 4 is released basicaly at release point, roughly when the hands pass the right foot on the downswing.

By followthough, the #3 is released and the full roll of the horizontal hinge action brings the clubhead to a parallel to the plane condition.

My question is about the number two accumulator. If impact demands a FLV left wrist condition, then the #2 should not have released (uncocked) at impact? When does the uncocking occur? between impact and separation? Between impact and followthough?

From a feel standpoint, when do you feel your left wrist begins to uncock? After the release point? Though the ball? Later?

Thanks

Triad:

#2 Accumulator is the left wrist cock (for right handed players). #2 should go from fully cocked moving to level at impact, and then becomes fully 'dumped' usually around follow through (both arms straight).

You are right when you say that #2 is not uncocked at impact (fully uncocked) however, it will have moved from its fully -Cked to level by impact.

The impact fix answers that question. Uncocking happens between release point and by impact, #2 is exhausted - you are at least back to address angle between the shaft and left arm. And some actually use some of #3. Hitters don't sequence #2 and #3, they unload simultaneously. TGM says that sequencing the accumulators maximizes velocity, and overlapping them maximizes thrust.

FL_John,

I understand your description and it seems quite consistent with the mechanics of the #2 (as I humbly understand it). It just seems to me that moving from cocked to level (and not beyond) from Release to Impact, and then level to uncocked at follow-through requires an extrodinary amount of hand manipulation in an extremely compressed time period. Things are happening pretty fast in the swing at that point.

For all practical purposes should I just feel that I let the #2 fully uncock from release through the ball and trust the pivot to sort out the timing, or is there a concious attempt to 'hold' the level position through impact.

Many thanks

From the TOP:

Your WRIST throws the open clubhead...leading edge first...at the plane line BEHIND the ball (#2 accum. release).

The speed generated from this release MUST THEN BE T R A N S F E R E D to the turning left hand (#3 accum. release).

BOOM!

Brian or Anyone!

If I focus on #2 Accumulator, even from the top (Sweep Release), would it be possible to sustain the lag more than usual? I guess my questions would be this...I think so many people add the right arm/hand and release #3 (as well as flatten the right wrist) as they think the power comes from there.

However, if we focus on #2 release (down, out, and forward) any thoughts on whether it may even prevent people from releassing #3 or flattening the trail wrist??? Just a thought...
