Standing up in the downswing

Golf Instruction: Jason Dufner: Duf's Moves To Hit It Solid : Golf Digest

I came across this artical. For me right shoulder to ball has to be thrown in the mix for any of of the Kwon/Como stuff to work like it should. (just saying for me absolutly changed everything) Feels like I'm working under through impact and holding tush line just happens. All the torques on the club I've been working on over the last couple years happen so fast it's just a blur.

Do you think you were moving the right shoulder too much straight down to start the downswing before or too much over the top?

I would say just not enough out towards the ball. I don't know what I was doing before I really wasn't aware of it which I guess was part of the problem. But just as important I'm starting to under stand how the left hip reacts to the right shoulder and how they tilt and turn together.
Sorry if this stuff is old news to some of you. I actually found serveral articals about it other places that are pretty old, but I just never picked up on it. But, if you have a problem with early extension, and shoulders too closed at impact couldn't hurt to look into it.

Steve, Have you worked on anything similar?

I haven't yet. I looked at what you sent over to me, but haven't been able to get out to hit balls. Doing practice swings in the backyard, I can feel the left hip clearing earlier, which I have been working on, and the use of the right arm feels better. I'll have to hit balls with it to see what happens with my ballflight.

Got a chance to hit some balls today and try out the "right shoulder toward the ball" like Dufner suggested as his feel. Continued struggling and hitting pulls, so started trying differing club head path and found that I hit it pretty good with the feel of the right shoulder toward the ball and the clubhead traveling below the right shoulder in the downswing. I have to also add that I have been working on a solid backswing turning the forward torso bend from address into left side bend without bending over the right leg. I have also been working on the Kwon/Como pivot trying to get a more open pelvis at impact in an effort to get some more forward shaft lean to lower my ball flight.

I'll try the club head under shoulder like you suggest. I've been hitting it pretty good but something's still not right. My back swing is in need of a major overhaul. I still can't get the hang of replacing forward bend with side bend. I'm going to set some lessons up with Richard Franklin soon he is pretty close by.
