the feel of swinging or releasing up

After a couple years of trying to bash balls with downward force and a FLW/BRW, I've realized some merit in putting the pull forward in my stance and the feel of releasing upwards. Physics still dictates that the clubhead hits the ball, but I feel like having somewhere to go with the clubhead (instead of down to China) makes it all come through faster and cleaner. This is all coming from a guy who lives chronically underplane and usually has his hips wayyy out front and hands wayyy behind at impact.

Is this legit or should I lay off the model airplane glue?

Could work...like Brian's "toss" and "one last point." (point butt end a little right at last parallel)

Could also get you too inside though, as you think you may be.

But I am not sure so don't put too much weight on it.

Thogh on the upside- with you releasing as you say you are your CH path won't be as right as if you had more lean.

Up.

The belly button works up through impact as the golfer goes from froward bend to back extension.

The clubhead goes up after low point.

The Left Shoulder is working up through impact.

The Arms and Hands go up before the club hits the ball.

Sounds good to me.

Doesn't matter what you feel. One man's meat is another man's poison.

The proof is in the pudding or in this case the divot.Does it start in front of the ball with the deepest point at least four inches in front of the ball?

Well Brian,my point is the clubhead needs to be travelling down after it strikes the ball despite of whatever else that goes up.

Interesting; is this because they're attached to the left shoulder moving up?

Would this be an example of a swing that had 10 degrees of shaft lean, but only a -5 degree attack angle?

excellent questions MJ, however, if it's always rainy and cold then you have plenty of time to contemplate- so we need to qualify that, or downgrade to "Good questions" for anyone north of the border. If you were in San Diego - now those would be excellent questions.

Yes or No on the first question - the answer is no.

While I see the principle in your second question - keep in mind there is only a one to one relationship between shaft lean and attack angle if you were on a vertical plane. Zero relationship if on a horizontal plane. Let's say you have 10 degree shaft lean on a 45 degree plane - you would have -5 degree attack angle, assuming a perfect circle. However, I see the principle you are asking- would the arms and hands going up before the club hits the ball create a shallower angle of attack, than if the hands were not going up before impact - everything else being equal - YES - however that's the catch - everything else won't necessarily be equal - more often than not I would say no.
