Every career teacher worth a darn is looking for a BIG break.

Chuck Evans is no different...to me, he was trying to be a pro Homer/anti-Ben guy, and probably still is, but really, That is sort of a JOKE cause Ben was the first AI and he is ALL about Homer. But Ben is a great GREAT teacher and has found A way to get people to do it.

So have I.

Maybe so has Chuck, BUT...

The Golfing Machine is my ROADMAP...

BEN DOYLE my MENTOR...

BUT, I, me Brian Manzella, is driving the car and I BUILT THE CAR.

So I don't care what anyone else is doing..

I want to be Bigger than Elvis!

The essence of what you have said is what I believe is correct.

We each have his/her own swing. Guess what each instructor worth a darn has his/her own method. It may be founded or based on tenants of the TGM, BUT in my opinion Brian Manzella does not teach TGM he teaches the Manzella Method based on his knowledge, experience and successes.

To say a student is TGM trained, is to say that this person has learned TGM, he did not learn a swing method per-se, he learned the language, the components, the variations that can compose a golf swing. He learned the imperatives and essentials.

Steve E. is probably the only TGM trained pro on tour today, cause he is certified, Bobby C was also, but any of the others trained by Doyle, Gring or even Manzella, are not TGM trained, but Doyle, Gring or Manzella trained using their respective methods and approaches.

If someone was to read Hogan's books and study them, does that mean when they teach they teach Hogan? I don't think so. Only Hogan can teach Hogan, as with any of the others IMO.

End of a rant...

Manzella is an Authorized Instructor of The Golf Machine, a PGA member but Manzella teaches TMM (The Manzella Method).

JMO.

Actually there is quite a bit of similarity between Doyle and Evans on tape. Major difference is Evans doesn't cover the book but his method as it was developed from TGM and says so. Doyle doesn't differeniate between TGM and his method per-se. Also Evan has quite an impressive resume IMO.

Hey Cherry...Since I have taught someone that won 3 illion after his lessons with me and the fact the lots of people that DON'T lie me acckowledge that I know as much about the golf swing as ANYONE and I have more personality than ALL the troubleshooters combined, how is it that YOU equate winning the Masters with me taken over the golf instruction business???

Winning any Tournaments lately??

denny 1953: Have you got any idea what kind of money changed hands in buying the rights of THe Golfing Machine ? Are we talking about the rights of the book or the TGM organisation? Where does this leave A1s who are not signed up with Joe Daniels and Danny Elkins? Thanks.

Don't know the amount of money, but they bought it complete lock stock and barrel. Using of the TGM logo requires their premission. It is my understanding if you are going to be certified, it will be by them or through their organizational structure. Also to use the Logo's and etc you will have to maintain your status with them.

They have all the notes, original manuscripts, books, etc. They will be the one's publishing the next version and they are looking into logo shirts, etc.

The testing is or has been revamped.

Don't know what happens if you take classes from someone not part of TGM org, will you be certified or not, my guess is not.

They are trying to increase public awareness and wish to change thier image. They hope the TGM personnel will be positive examples and advertise that they are TGMers.

That is all I know, anything else is pure rumor that I have heard.
Have you got any idea of how other A1s feel about this take over. I understand from posts that I have read that Chuck Evans is none to pleased with the situation and he always came over as a reasonable guy. It would appear from the outside that TGM has been hijacked and this must put a lot of A1s in a very awkward position. As now the terms are being dictated by Joe Daniels and Danny Elkins .

I don't believe that Hijack is at all what happen based on the limited conversations I have had. They seem very committed to making TGM a success. From what little I understand they are trying to build some structure/organization to move forward and build on, rather than let it wander around aimlessly.
I understand that there are 140 or so A1s. Does anyone know how they feel about things being run by Danniels and Elkins?

Good Question...

I don't believe there has been much movement in any direction since the buyout.

Prior to the buyout, I believe from what I saw, was the Chuck Evans was probably the most active in promoting it with Golf Educators. Basically since Homer died, what I can tell it was just a maintenance effort with a few new AI's along the way.

There doesn't appear that there was any real organization just a means toget certified and move on.

Maybe some of the other AIs can comment on this.

I don't think the effect of the new owners has come about yet, their goals realized or put out to the public.

A good question.

The only boss I have is me.

I am an AI, who should be a GSED, but there was no program for it per se.

I have no problem with the new owners, but It should be OUR deal, not THIER deal.

The company should have been sold to ALL of us.

That is an interesting concept. Let me ask you, how many AIs feel as they are part of a group or organization? Don't get me wrong, they all I am sure worked hard for their certification and most seem to include it in the bio but few on their signature.

I am really trying to understand why there isn't more a group type mentality or organization.

I am sure those guys know their stuff.

But so do I, so does Ben big time and many others.

But I know they are in it to make a profit...so It's tough to promote anyone else.

I know that I will make it big one day, no matter what happens to TGM...but I hope it is all for the best.

Before you say it Brian, I will, call me niave but Joe certainly didn't come across that way. He sounded that the real motivation was to Keep the Dream Alive (Homer's work).

To be honest his and dan's investment, their life savings is a very high risk that will take a long time to realize any ROI. Neither of them gave up their day jobs when they took this project on.

I am sure making money is something they see at the end, but at least they convinced me that they didn't want TGM to die or continue to fall by the wayside.

Time will tell I guess.

Bummer that professionals, especially in such a small number, don't hand together better. I would think 141 speaking as one would have more positive effect than 141 speaking for themselves. But then again I think the TGM target market should be insturctors while others thinks if should be everyone.

Good idea Denny, share with us when you get the info.

Martee, I know that Homer's message is their intent.

I also know that if one guy might be the great white hope, no one is going to help him.

Brian : Was " The company should have been sold t ALL of us." option ever offered to you all? This would seem to me to be the fairest and most correct way of selling the TGM rights.

Brian, I noted you in this post so you will know whom the person is on the otherside of the screen. I have been a member of your forum but have not posted for I do not desire to intrude. I do keep an eye from time to time for it is quite entertaining at times. I am golfingrandy/ro/Randy. Now do not look at my registered name on your forum and read into it other than the following. The dude comes from my great nephew who is named after me. He happened to be around when I logged in and when anyone asks him, "whose the dude?," he points to that person who asked.

Onward. I have watched this thread with special interest and thought it would be a good time to address some of the questions. Due to lack of time right now, I have to meet with head pros and golf course ownerships for business meetings (yep should be a good day of fun), I will provide just a little info.

In 10 days there will be TGM meetings held to address many of the same questions that are being bantered here. Once these meetings are completed many of these questions will not only be answered, but future plans for TGM will also be addressed. The timetable for these announcements will be in 6-8 weeks. Let me assure everyone, the desires of Sally, which are the desires of Homer, will be met. Danny and Joe have made promises to Sally and as long as they hold the keys to the shop door, they will live up to those promises made.

Sorry for my lack of time right now to comment on a few other tidbits. Possibly I will do so at a later time.

Thank you Brian for allowing me to post this, also all your members, and I hope to have some much desired news later for all.

Thanks

golfingrandy/ro/Randy
