My response to Mike Lance

Mike Lance said:
I don't have any issues with you or your teaching. I respect your knowledge, abilities, and time on the turf.

This is the SAME BS answer you would get from Rick Martino if you asked him why Brian is never asked to speak at any PGA Summits.

"Brian is a good teacher, but"...(go back in your little hole).

The fear from Martino AND, I might add, ffrom some of the Kool-Aid brigade, is that I MIGHT BE as good as I say.

I'm not a fan of your forum persona, but that's why I run the other one.

My forum persona is a RESPONSE to being told, "Brian is a good teacher, but"...(go back in your little hole) for over 20 years.

Your guy went and sold stocks, I fought EVERY DAMN DAY OF MY LIFE to be as good as I am.

It's no secret you have taken a strong position on the pivot center and my words, "pillar" was a pun. A good play on words I thought, but meant in a respectful way.

BS

You think that crazy KoolAid tripod is the answer?

The whole golf bis taught it that way for years.

NEWSFLASH: It didn't work then, and FIXING IT it is paying the downpayment on my new house now.

I apologize for not pulling the trigger earlier when one of our members bashed your forum members. Instructor bashing is something I've grown very weary of. It's unprofessional and doesn't advance the cause for anyone. That said, if we did a member comparison, I'm guessing at least half of each forum are joint members, probably more. It's all about the learning.

BS

You would have never taken Mathew's post down.

You guys all think subtle Manzella-bashing is cool. Like behind closed doors.

You should come take a REAL LESSON and then comment.

How many have you lost after the first prescription? Do you regret not having them back for a second opportunity?

I adjust when I make a mistake.

I do it all the time.

You guy BRAGS about teaching the exact same stuff for 20+ years.

A joke. A lie. Or a marketing ploy?

For me, it was Ben Doyle. He tried every way from Sunday to get me into his maximum participation pattern. I worked on it for a few years and made some progress, but it's not a good fit. Never will be. Going to the next guy for a lesson makes it that much easier for the instructor doesn't it? Do I bash Ben as being a poor teacher? Would you? If not, why not?

This is a KEY POINT.

Ben Doyle could teach the way I do. He doesn't want to.

He feels like it is HIS GOD GIVEN APPOINTMENT to teach this pattern, this way. Some will get it. Some won't.

I can't teach that way. I HAVE TO FIX PEOPLE. I do. As far as I know, I am the very best at teaching people to hit it better NOW and not bastardize.

Lynn could learn to teach like me. He doesn't want to.

He is a SALESMAN FIRST.

And he has something to sell.

BLOODLINE. And a different bloodline than Ben's.

Neither would have a chance in a teach off against me, because neither is TRYING to fix people.

They are both selling a pattern or two.

In my opinion, Ben's pattern is way more orthodox and will produce better results if done correctly. Lynn's is easier to do.

But, I teach 10000's of patterns. I teach people what ever way works for them and produces the impertives.

Sorry Ben didn't help you. But I could have without all the Kool-Aid of Ultra High-Hands, crazy forward head position, flat-ish one plane contortion, hitting for high %'s, etc.

Had to do it.

No P-words or D-words or %-bombs.

Ok?

Pathetic that had to be the 5000th post. Name calling was cool in middle school though. Why do people have to be idiots?

This is why?

Good question/point, Matt.

People have to name call when they have nothing to say.

No matter how many times I win a debate, the kool-aid is just too strong.

Maybe Billy Graham or Dr. Phil or Oprah or even the Stallion, could have saved those people from Jim Jones.

But, some would have drank the Kool-Aid anyway.

_______________________________________________________________

Now as far a Lynn's followers.

They are buying HOPE. Hope that "if they just do it just like the 6th edition patterns say and do it with the tripod and the RFT" that there golf games will be "saved."

Sorry.

No magic pill.

"No one owns this game." —Don Villavaso

Don is right, of course.

You can't have this 'misguided affection' for these principles and then try to take credit when you student doesn't do it.

Does ANYBODY really think that if you 'waved a magic wand' over the whole PGA Tour and made there heads stay precisely between their feet, that they would all play better???

GMAFB!

Now, they WILL play better if they do the 3 Imperatives better, or balance out the ones they don't do.

That's why EVEN if they could TEACH as good as me, their MESSAGE would still lose.

Just in case ya'll forgot...

THE GREATEST POST in the history of this debate:

by

The Itallian Stallion (me)

The truth IS:

Snead, Nelson, Hogan, Nicklaus, Player, Palmer, Weiskoff, Miller, Trevino, Watson, Norman, Seve, Faldo, Woods,

ALL HAD THIS IN COMMON:

None of them used the "Head precisely in between the feet 'Tripod' Swing Center."

None.

None of them used Right Forearm Takeaway the way the Kool-Aid site promotes.

None.

None of them had a shiftless plane.

None.

None of them were hitters, the way it is being taught by these folks.

None.

Zero.

Mr. Lance, you yourself, made 'light' (geefully) that the "Turn around the spine" pivot is a PILLAR (your words) of the Manzella teaching philosophy.

But, it is YOUR guy that is trying to sell a VERY UNPROVEN set of ideals as IDEAL.

They are not.

I tried them, taught them, and found them WOEFULLY inferior to the 'set of ideals' that I have developed over my 25 YEARS of continuous teaching and research, REFINING and REAL-WORLD sharpening of my skills.

IT PAINS ME, when someone comes to me, like rwh, who loves golf and has not improved due to INFERIOR methodology.

I have always prided myself at my LIVE Teaching Skills, but noone in the 'biz' seems to care a lick whether or not my teaching actually WORKS BETTER.

It does.

And not just when I do it.

Jim0068 has become a nice little teacher in no time at all, because HE GETS IT.

Mike Fiiney, Tom Bartlett and Chris Hamburger "got it" long ago.

There is NO MAGIC PILL in golf.

RFT, a one plane swing, a head centered pivot, etc WON'T FIX EVERYBODY EVER.

Orthodox procedures are orthodox for a reason, and real-world teaching ABILITY will always trump hype.

One day, ya'll will all realize I was right.

Until then, have a nice day.

Stallion has strong words on the net, a bunch of good words I might add.

Stallion is a puppy on the phone, very nice words I might add.

Stallion on the lesson front dunno, but it is clear he is a puppy with bulldog intentions underneath and helps a bunch of people.

kool aid is yummy. Oh yea, it is, and it does work. Hardy is grape, but it works. I like Ben, Tiger, and Itallion flavor better. It worked for those who turned me on to Hardy and really complements their ott move, and they're loving it.

Lynn may be strawberries, he is respected and admired by those that prefer his flavor.

Harmon is lemon, but helped produce a Tiger.

Now the Tiger has moved to lime angles.

kool aid is good. Brian is good. Controversy is good.

In my industry, it's not necessarily the best that rise to the top and it's full of kool aid...

So what vehicle can we put Brain on to get him to the promised land! This net is a huge monster start...

stay the course, Itallion. Your drive and passion will get you there!

Nice words, but...

What if we all show up at a REAL SUMMIT, and I could PROVE that my way is best?

Not so I would be king—even though it is good to be King—but to help golf.

What if?

Ummm excuse me....

I don't see why saying that Brian deleted a post of Finney's because it was embarrassing to him and then pointed it out, is being an idiot. As I said, blind henchmen and partisan disciples.... Remember, I have a PM from you you sent to me relating to the exact thread.... - I could post it....However I won't, but do be careful....because it does make you sound like a hypocrit....

Of course - it suits Manzella's agenda to say my post contained $%$% bombs.... and thats not true....

Mathew, sir...

Michael doesn't suffer fools very easily.

Not to say I am calling you a fool.

But, Michael can give you 3 a side and has been a very respected pro for years. And a really good teacher.

You are a golfer, a golfer that wants to get better and—by all accounts—is getting better.

You like Lynn. Good for you. I think he is a pretty nice guy too.

But this is very important stuff, sir, and you are a bit player.

This is a debate for the future of golf.

I am having it right now with Lynn, but trust me, I have WAY more of an issue with Hardy.

I know I'm right, my students know I'm right and many of the ones who have seen us both know I'm right.

You don't even do the tripod the way you THINK you do it.

I could 'fix' you in about 30 minutes, but you'd rather Lynn.

Go ahead, go back to the other site.

I'll be fixing the ones who WANT FIXING over here.

The point:

Mathew is a very bright guy.

Michael is a very bright guy.

If they ever met, on the range, and Mathew watched Micheal swing and they talked golf.

They'd be pals.

Golf needs more smart people.

But what golf really needs is to FIGURE OUT WHAT I'M DOING WHEN I TEACH.

'Cuz it works.

See you December 8-10...

Looking forward to the "Real Summit" because the "Actual Summit" is a joke!!!!

why dont people just let it go and do what they do best, a lot of wasted mental energy that could be used in a more positve direction.

Come again NAT?

You ARE going to the PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit in December...Right?

That is the Actual Summit...it's a Joke!!!

The "Real Summit" is behind the scenes..the people you meet and the get togethers amongst peers!!!

I disagree. If you ignore something it doesn't get better.

The Summit, The Summit and the REAL Summit

I will holding a "Manziposium" either on the day before the PGA Summit or one of the nights.

You are invited.

Check your PC at the door.

Tiger's book How I Play Golf and Jack's Golf My Way video both have overhead and rear view camera angles if anyone is interested in another view of the neck. At one time there was a nice rear view video of Darren Clarke on another forum.
