The move to strike the ball is an inward pull from the left and FATS from the right

fats=force across the shaft

would you say FATS is more alpha or beta?

Thought about this again...

inward pull = negative gamma + negative alpha
FATS = positive alpha

inward pull is from hip high to hip high
FATS around middle of downswing

getting closer?

Jeremy,

Physiology is so difficult. I like to pull up around the greens but I think left shoulder up instead of pulling the left arm in. Question is on the full swing can you pull the left arm in without shoulders hips and back supporting the move in some way. What is your experience with your move?
Hmmm... Well I just watched MJ's video and I think he is saying there is no need to assist the pull because if the hands reach low point in the correct spot (below the bowtie) then they will have no where else to go but up. I think I've been kind of cheating with poor hand position at low point. Interesting stuff, I'm going to work on it as usual. I do really like the feeling of separating the right arm leading the way and the left arm/hand pulling up though. Swing thoughts come and go, but I've been using that all year.

I timed it. 14 seconds. It's in the title of a thread. Sorry if you don't have that much time. I'll go back to my bubble.

Using the search option typing in "fats" as you recommended gets you a list of posts. Not much help. The search key "fats" (upper left side) doesn't allow you to do anything.

Another post agreed with me. He's obviously not in the bubble either.

Sorry that you disagree. I typed FATS in the search space and a bunch of threads popped up. One of them had the word FATS in the title and the meaning in parenthesis. It took 14 seconds to find. I can see how you would think that a website that nobody pays for should go out of their way to explain everything to everybody but it isn't exactly practical.

So your answer is to use the search option in hopes that a post happens to explain the acronym. Great answer. Try charging for access and see how much this forum grows. Another great idea. I've got a great idea, why not get rid of this forum and you bubble boys just text each other using your in the bubble made up acronyms?

I can imagine how Golf Magazine would react if Brian Manzella used all these inside the bubble acronyms in an article without any expanation of what the acronym means.

I suppose your answer would be for Golf Magazine readers to check other issues in hopes someone explained what the acronym meant. Yea, that's the way to run a magazine.

I did a search too, I found the answer in seconds with both google and the website search feature. You're bitching about a non issue. Get over it and quit being so lazy. If you just don't know how to use the internet then I'm sure there are some classes you can take at your local community college.

So, you also used the search option and found it in seconds. Could it be that the top thread from the search HAPPENS TO BE THIS EXACT THREAD?

I'm not bitching about anything. I'm responding to a smart-ass reply to me thanking the thread starter for putting in parenthesis the meaning of the acronym "fats".

Do a search for this acronym and report back. UYA.......

We've been through this before. You've clearly got some kind of chip on your shoulder because you've bitched about not "being in the bubble" or whatever before because you didn't know what things mean. And no, you didn't just thank the thread starter, you of course had to throw in a passive aggressive jab about people being included. When you type "fats" in the search feature your answer is on the first page in the 22nd result, in the title, you don't even have to click on a link. Like I said, lazy. Maybe if you PMed one of the staff and asked real nice they would just tell you the answer so you wouldn't have to junk up threads with your whiny bullshit. You just go ahead on with your life thinking that everyone owes you something.

I didn't suggest once that he charge for the info. Also, this isn't the thread that the acronym was found doing a search. You're bitter, lazy and have a chip on ur shoulder for whatever reason and I couldn't care any less if you learn or not. So I'll consider your wonderful ideas and I'll give you one. Go find another forum that tries as hard as this one to help golfers.

Keefer,
I think that given 20 minutes and only a sliver of interest, I could probably find Amelia Earhart using a search function. If the price for all this wonderful information is a couple of minutes boning up on a few sayings to parachute yourself into the game a bit, surely that's better than $9.99 a month charged to your credit card?

I'm sorry if you feel respondants were sarcastic, but if you keep biting the hand that feeds you then those fellows who work to better us all might feel a bit under-appreciated. And that would be the thin end of the wedge...

It only helps golfers if the people you intend to help understand what the hell you're talking about, instead of talking to a few inside baseball people who live here 24/7.

Again I ask. Do you think the editors of Golf Magazine would allow Brian Manzella to use these made up aconyms without any explanation of what they mean?

Hypothetical example of an editor of Golf Magazine reviewing a piece of advice from a Manzella article. Manzella says: "to fix this problem all you need to do is apply a little more FATS with your right hand." Editor and Reader, WTF is "FATS?"

Footnote on bottom of page. If you want to know the meaning of acronyms like "FATS" we suggest looking at other issues and with enough due diligence you should find it.

And if you can't keep up with these Manzella-ism acronyms maybe you should find another magazine that will cater to your lazy ass.

After-all the goal of this magazine is to keep the subscription level so small as to be a magazine for insiders only.

I'll take the advice from you under consideration. Some of you are so inside the bubble that you can't see the forest from the trees.

I don't understand the problem, if you don't know just simply ASK. I don't think anyone here is going to berate you because you don't know; we'll simply tell you and you'll know.

Would a glossary work? Probably, but there are so many i don't know when we'd finish.

Lil off topic but this isn't worth a new thread. Tugging how's swing the handle don't pull it for a thought? Is their no pulling force involved in alpha? Just pure swing from shoulder complexes to apply the alpha force.

Kevin, how would you describe the best way to get the hands going on the correct path from the transition?

I realize there are a few different ways, but would like to hear your feel. For example, I have been experimenting with a drop of the hands and "catch the drop" later versus a push the hands away behind me and then route them toward the left front pocket. Curious as to your preference.

Thanks in advance.
