Being shown how I tug. Being shown why I tug. Being shown how to fix my tug.

The absolute worst thing for my game Brian has introduced me to...

Tony,
re: moving the swing bottom forward by swinging left- was this something you learned from Brian in a lesson or was it from this site?

Pete, I learned this from this site and Brian's video as a guest on Michael Jacob's Explosive Golf show. Brian demonstrated swinging left and axis tilt while in a bunker. He drew a smiley face, a butt and the Great Wall of China to show your head staying back while your hips shift your butt forward thereby giving you axis tilt. My back and logical mind have been grateful ever since.

That you have learned here in the last two years that has improved your golf.

Remember, the single most important thing (Manzella crew included).

Drew

Dear Drew,

The continually deepening belief, and now practical and scientific evidence from this site including PM traffic, that while not noted by others on this string yet, for me, lower body dynamic balance is MOST IMPORTANT and CRUCIAL to accuracy, and EVEN more importantly, for minimizing statistical dispersion.

Thanks for asking such an insightful question, and my being able to read the content and quality of the answers.

Sincerely,

It's a tie between two:

-Focusing more on swinging the clubhead. Just that change in my mental approach has helped me a ton, especially on uneven lies. I've never hit so many decent shots with the ball below my feet (sometimes well below), which isn't an easy shot for someone who is big and tall.

-Not putting quite as much stock in using video. I'll use it to see what things look like, out of curiosity. But I've done more harm trying to make my swing look a certain way on video, without the aid of a trained eye, rather than focusing on trying to create the ballflight and letting that shape my swing.

Hall of Fame Post and why i don't use video or record video during a lesson. People only really pick out what they do wrong or if their swing doesn't look how they want but the ball is going where they want they almost immediately want to change it.

Absolutely - I nearly fell victim to this last week Jim. My son took a video of me playing a hole for another website I frequent. My swing is verry short and quick, ( some swing related, some bad shoulder related ) and it looked worse on video that I thought. It ate me up for a couple of days, but I just remembered the fact that I have brought my handicap down 6 stokes in less than 6 months with that swing, so just roll with it! Plus the fact that due to my back and this bum shoulder, I don't have the ability to work on a "new" swing. Guess it's sorta like the antithesis of what Fernado used to say " It's better to hit good, than to look good!"

Care to share how you have dropped the 6? If you already have just point me in the direction. Thx bigball

Curtis - first of all, I was a 19 hc at the beginning of the season, so obviously it's easier to lower your HC when you start from there.
I've ALWAYS struggled with my driver - bet you I had 2-3 lost balls per round, and maybe hit 4 fairways tops. At the beginning of this year, almost on a whim, I bought a TM R11 driver in a 12' loft, and started gaming the Callaway Black golf ball. Around this time, I also saw the Count Yogi thread (hands behind ball at set-up ) and decided to give it a shot. Since then, I am hitting over 60% of my fairways, and the ones I miss are almost always just out of the fairway. Could all be a coincidence I guess, but I really don't think so. The amazing thing is, this has all happened on the course - I really can't practice much because of my shoulder issues. I hope to get some of them fixed this winter, because It's hard to stay sharp on the irons without practice, at least for me.

Now, if I could just fix my putting...
