The Answer man strkes again!
He is trying to copy Ben Hogan's mechanics and get Hogan's ball-striking results.
He is going from ARCHED at the top—to flat on the way down—to maybe slightly bent—to flat and then to arched at impact—gradually re-flattenning and rotating while bending slightly and on some shots BENDING A LOT while also turning the palm toward himself.
Hogan.

He doesnt know how to produce it via the pivot work though, He was swinging really bad against Nick Ohearn he was just plain steering and avoiding rotation! It was awful.

I stand by my statement.
When Hogan made a FULL swing, he was DEAD ON the Turned Shoulder Plane.

TW got off to a slow start that match but came on strong on the back nine.
His wedge on 18 which led to a bridie to tie the match was a terrific clutch shot.
Tiger still should have won the match. He missed an easy 3 1/2 foot putt on the first playoff hole. O'Hearn scrambled well al day.
Tiger also hit the par 5 17th in two but the ball bounced off the green and over just bad luck. His drives on 17 and 18 were bombs 50-60yds past O'Hearn. TW will be tough to beat in the majors this year.

Not disputing Tiger's good shots, but he did have "help" twice in the closing 9, when the crowd around the green stopped his errant ball from going right into the nasty desert, whereby he managed to get up and down to halve the holes...

Thanks Brian, "turning the palm toward himself", is the part I just couldn't decipher, but you're right on. One of the many little bits that could be classified as "Hogan's secret".

How good a player is Tiger inspite of what he is trying to do under false means of application eg position golf?
