Tiger's putting

This old gag?

Seriously?

Put the camera on 99% of the other players, for every shot, of every tournament, and tell me if you don't see them curse.

You guys live quite the pious lifestyle. I don't, so I could care less if he or anyone else curses.

Apparently you don't have young kids, I turn the channel when Tiger is on and my kids are in the room.

I didn't catch the tournament, was Tiger in contention with the 62? Rory vrs. Tiger could make for some good golf.

Tiger wasn't blasting putts by the hole today or this week for that matter. I know Dave Peltz and others have done studies that show the optimal speed for putts is 16 (?) inches past the hole. I know I can't putt like that and it appears Tiger is done putting like that. I saw an awful lot of Tiger's putts dieing in or around the cup. Sure makes for a less stressful round in my opinion.

Just a note, I'm fairly certain that Pelz theory about 16 inches or whatever is wrong. It depends on the break and up/down hill of the putt, but something closer to 5 inches has been found to be optimal more recently I believe.

I hear you. My kids are 9 and 13 and I can hardly watch sports on TV with them. (sarcastic comment coming) Good thing they outlawed drug reps giving doctors free pens and note pads. Now I can have my kids learn all about erectile dysfunction during EVERY single commercial break.

It is plain ridiculous. I am anything but a prude but they could make those commercials a little more subtle too.

Anybody notice Tiger wasn't wearing those white Air Jordan's today? hmmmmmmm...But seriously those "sneaker" looking golf shoes look
hideous with dress pants imo.

I agree 10000% on the ed commercials, I turn them as well....The world is a nasty place and I would like to keep my children’s innocence as long as possible, I am a conservative Christian and I know I maybe in a minority but I think children should not have to deal with sex, drugs, vulgarity in grade school, I just wish we could sit down as a family and watch sports without the fear of profane or adult natured subject matter presented. I appologize if I come off pious that is not my intent, I am the first to tell you I am not without fault.

Today was the 1st tournanent in a loooong time (excl Masters & The Open Championship) I watched with interest on TGC and then NBC... especially since Tiger was in the mix.

Of course, I did just hook-up the 24" HDTV in my home office. :) Now, I *can* work 24/7.

Love him or hate him, he really drives the sport and creates interest. Whether it's his putting, his swing, his comments, his coaches, he draws the crowds, and the critics. No one puts more butts in seats. If he can get a lot more wins under his belt and dominate again, he'll be the UK of golf. :p:D

PS... "he" is not Tom Gillis, and "UK" is not United Kingdom.

No doubt he moves the needle for golf, I love to watch Tiger and Phil go at it and I am pretty stoked to see the new number one and Tiger go head to head, especially in a major, just not with my kids in the room. :)

I totally agree, and I am not conservative or particularly religious and am no prude, but I find the constant stream of ED commercials on sports to be something I wish 8 year-olds weren't exposed to just as a side effect of sports watching. I don't understand why networks get a free pass on running them. I find it disturbing. Money trumps everything.

On the positive side of today's events, what golf fan isn't thinking about the possibility of Rory and Tiger battling down the stretch at Augusta on the weekend?

I don't have youts, but I'm still offended. When did we (golfers) become the national demo for our junk not working?

I hadn't even thought of that angle yet. Offensive!

Speaking of "offensive", was it more fun watching the Unibrow run the point on the break or step out for the three against the Gators today? Was the NO restaurant recs request for Final Four weekend?
