Tiger's putting

Today was the 1st tournanent in a loooong time (excl Masters & The Open Championship) I watched with interest on TGC and then NBC... especially since Tiger was in the mix.

Of course, I did just hook-up the 24" HDTV in my home office. :) Now, I *can* work 24/7.

Phil at Pebble didn't do it for you eh?

Quite the round by Tiger. I didn't actually catch most of it, but he likely putted lights out. I hope it works out for him. But, I still don't see why he thought he should have "changed".

I hadn't even thought of that angle yet. Offensive!

Speaking of "offensive", was it more fun watching the Unibrow run the point on the break or step out for the three against the Gators today? Was the NO restaurant recs request for Final Four weekend?

The SEC Tournament this weekend....

:D

That last round was a glimpse of the past, hope we get to see it on a more permanent basis. There is no doubt a 75% Tiger would be more than enough to put Mcilroy in his place, they play golf that is where the comparisons should end.

75% of what Tiger exactly? Cause Tiger 2000 is gone to bed. And in case you haven't noticed Rory has added some serious sh!t to his game.

I don't watch the AT&T National ProAm or the Hope because I don't care to watch bad amateurs, their antics and/or feeble attempts at humor.

I hear you on all that that's why i don't watch it either till Sunday cause it's mostly about the pros on that day and a lot of that
other crap is dialed down. Plus having a DVR helps too. It's a shame cause that Phil rd was a masterpiece.

I'm pumped, rivalries are great for golf, hopefully Tiger vs. Rory will be the second coming of Jack vs. Arnie, would be great for golf. Tiger looks like he's starting to put it together, and Rory has 10 top 3's in his last 11 tournaments and is number one in the world.

Definately was fun watching Tiger go low, and Rory showed some sick short game skills to hang on....

This adds nothing to the discussion. Not sure what it says about me that this is what solicits my first post after being a member for quite some time but...

Earlier post: serious trashing of TW for cursing.
Current post: Rory has added some serious sh!t to his game.

And don't cop out by saying he has cameras on him. You have some conservatives in this audience as well. I'm not one of them but it doesn't change my point.

Do as I say? Comical.

1. The Tiger cursing stands alone on it's own. If you wanna defend that then be my guest. I have nothing more to add.
2. How does "75% of Tiger" putting Rory in his place add to the convo exactly? That's hyperbole imo and I asked a valid question. What Tiger is he talking about? Sorry if I offended you.

Oh, don't worry about me. I curse all the time :) My meaning is just that I couldn't possibly judge TW for getting upset with a shot then dropping F-bombs. Nor should anyone else who uses 'bad language' in front of an audience.

Agree with your second statement/question although I wasn't originally commenting on that. Definitely hyperbole. Whatever percentage of himself that Woods needs to channel, it's on him to catch Rory in the current competitive framework. Not sure how you can quantify it as a % anyway.

What is interesting to me is the putting Rory in his place comment. By all accounts, Rory is humble and driven, well-spoken, intelligent, skilled, and respectful. In other words, what someone would've written about Woods early in his career. Tiger has way more accomplishments but it's not Rory's fault his parents did the deed later in life. Seems even more silly when you imagine someone saying that Palmer would put Jack his place, or that Watson would put Nicklaus in his place, by all accounts great and deserving champions.

Ok, enough morality from one of the immoral majority.

75% Tiger in the Haney yrs is more than enough to blow Mcilroy out of the water. Put that Tiger head to head down the stretch with Mcilroy and watch him crumble. There is absolutely nothing hyperbole about that statement maybe if i was to believe the media hype surrounding Mcilroy it would come across as such. but im not one to get caught up in such nonsense , the Mcilroys will come and go in the golf world but the Tigers are once in a blue moon.

Also all this media hype about how competitive the tour has now become is also nonsense where are the Fowlers the Watneys the Johnsons i thought going by the media they would be major winning machines. Mcilroy has had way less competition so far in his 5th season on tour than tiger had during his 1st five yrs. I sincerely hope that this changes for the sake of golf because it has all become pretty boring without the man they call Tiger.

21 year olds that win US opens by 8 shots come and go in the golf world?? Since when?

I did a double take when I saw where you were from.

Do you know Rory personally, judging by what you wrote i would sure hope so. But if you came to those conclusions just by casual observations taken from a few interviews that would be very silly and extremely naive.

Granted maybe that statement was a little hyperbole, but i stand by my other comments. To be honest Kevin, Mcilroy is not that well liked in Ireland, Paddy and Darren have a much bigger following.

Gotta love the rewind feature on TV's now. As I was watching Sunday's final round, I said to myself, "Did Tiger just say 'What the f*$k'?"................rewind............Yup....that's what he said.........loud and clear. He should know better. He's 36 now. Grow up, dude. And be a professional. You're not out there with your buddies. You're on national television. And you know you are. All that talk after the scandal of him being more "respectful to the game" was obviously a bunch of "lip service".

Why is he not as liked over there? What about G-Mac? He and Rory are good friends.

But Todd, how did he putt? Seriously though, the continued posturing and sermonizing and advice giving for every little infraction is boring. Simple, don't watch, don't rewind, don't rewind the image by commenting in a forum. Rewind and watch Stricker play, or Scott Verplank if you want a walking goodie two shoes. Then walk back into your picket fenced house, say hi to your wife and 2.2 kids and pretend a world outside your world doesn't exist, nor has any right to. I can't wait for the next Rory and Tiger show, and I hope Michelson is there too, and maybe even Stricker rolling in a bunch of 50 rooters would be fun.
