I must admit though, the pissing matches (yes, the same ones I was whining about in an earlier post) seem to have borne some positives, that is, all of the really knowledgeable TGM posters from the other sites have migrated over here and begun to post very informative stuff (and even translate the jargon into regular folks talk on occasion). So thanks to DA for stirring things up.

Listen: any migration to this site was due to the fact that Yoda is now posting here more then there. DA had NOTHING to do with sheet.

My twin Yoda and I were separated at birth. He says I have an attitude and so does this site. So, he makes me post here. :D

What's funny is that before you confirmed that "the master and student are one," it seemed to me that Yoda and Holenone had different personalities. Now I understand!!:)

You don't know the half of it. The biggest problem of my little brother's life has been dealing with his big sister's rep.

And he began posting here a lot initially to challenge Alford.

Greg, see? Matthew takes a statement out of context from weeks ago in another thread in a different forum, with yet another personal attack that is a mini essay on how worthless I am as a human being.

The conclusion, "HK is just plain wrong!", was not a stand alone comment. It was a summation following a slew of posts citing specifically why I thought he was wrong. See the thread on HK's analysis of Bobby Clampett's swing for the 7 SPECIFIC reasons.

This proves again the point, no post will be well received here if it disagrees with HK or TGM unless submitted with maximum reverance to the guru gods here.

My criticism of HK's analysis of Clampett's swing and my observation TGM could have and should have been written more clearly have produced HUNDREDS of posts and innumberable personal attacks thrown at me. Make a lot of sense? Not to me.

Ironically when people inquire, they find I don't have other criticisms of TGM. Above, I have given HK some credit for good thinking. Does Matthew take note of that and say "hey, the guy complimented HK and said he doesn't have any major criticisms of TGM?". No. He goes hunting around to find another bone to contend so he can launch yet another personal attack.

And this is after I suggested trying an experiment. Namely, stop the personal attacks and see what happens. That olive branch was thrown right back at me.

And now, Brian, growing tired of a modicum of good will in recent days, wants me to post on a subject where he thinks I will founder so he can pounce and rip into me.

Same-O, Same-O, around the world. Defend that belief system!

David....

I would like you to comment on the clubface in the "What controls the clubface post."

Please.

My heart. Happy?

Ok...so call him out and then ignore him!

Allow me to use a religious illustration. If you walked into a Baptist Sunday school class and announced that water immerision is heresy, you'd get a similar reaction. However, if you diplomatically challenged that doctrine and then cited chapter and verse, you'd earn the right to be heard.

Same applies here with TGM (Bible). You better know TGM and it's terminology if you are going to debunk it. You haven't done your homework, David.

I don't perceived Brian to be a TGM fundamentalist, i.e. someone who turned off his brain years ago. I sense that he relishes debate because it either reaffirms or modifies his position. I'm the same way.

Again, you could debate but you haven't. You've dissed and danced, thus lost some credibility. My advice....do your homework and debate.

Same-O, Same-O, around the world. Defend that belief system!

Or create and substantiate a new one....

Well, I guess it is a religion. I don't know how one can diplomatically give specific reasons why an analysis is wrong other that to simply state the reasons and then defend them. If you go back to the Bobby Clampett swing analysis forum, you'll see that's exactly what I did. AFTER REQUESTING PERMISSION TO DO SO!!!

The answer as to what control the clubface was given. My heart. Anyone who hits the ball really well is going to make a sacrifice, and that is controlled by the heart.

The answer Brian wants is on pg.___ of TGM, but my answer is better. Try to find that in TGM. The heart controls the clubface. That's a truth you won't find in any golfing book. But here it is, and no one recognizes it. I bet Hogan and Moe Norman would.

Why?

He hasn't yet, and wait til Ringer chimes in with his dribble. David will sound like a genius. If you want to learn about TGM, or at the very least a sound TGM based golf swing, this is the place. If you just want to refute everything most of seriously study, then senseless arguing will waste everyones valuable time. Neither David or Ringer ever on any forum ever cared one iota for TGM.
Wow... the viceral hatred is just oozing before I've even posted a thing. If you enter into debate with this mentality already, how can it even be concieved of that you might actually ponder what I have to say with any sort of true objectivity? I might as well just say "You're always right." right now and put you on ignore so that we can spare everyone else of the pissing contest you would no doubt try to induce.

David Alford has alot to learn about civility and getting on with others...

It is ENTIRELY possible to show your views without creating annoyance with the forum (which I believe is DA whole purpose of being here)....

Let me give you an example

"HK is just plain WRONG !"

and how you should of written it is

"I have to say im not in total agreement with Homer here"

Does that detract from spreading your view accurately - of course not! Just one incites arguement and the other incites debate. This forum is not unwelcoming to non-TGM'ers, its just when people are basically showing no humility when in discussion.

Its actually a strange thing. As many of you know, I had a (not so) slight attitude and reiled people up in FGI deliberately and I believed by doing this I was doing the forum a service but corrected in my ways now - all I want is a good and hopefully educational discussion about the topics at hand. People like DA probably believe they are creating good debate, when infact all that they produce is **** flinging contests which in DA case he always badly looses and this detracts the attention off the good debate....
You saying all this reminds me of the movie "To Sir With Love". You are really growing . Hope you become an A.I.:)

Njmp2, the attack on ringer was totally uncalled for, i think he is a VALUABLE addition to this group.
Ringer might be able to communicate a thought differently than the norm here, where someone might actually understand it!!

This is a GOLF SWING discussion board, and to keep learning new ideas should always be read and thought out to see the correctness or incorrectness of its value.

Some people when reading on a subject might need complete details, others may get it faster with comparisons, still others with a combination.

If you noticed the thread about the next version of TGM the book, actually read some of the comments, it seems LOTS think it needs to be rewritten so MORE can understand it, and LOTS want video explaining the book and terms. What does this tell you????

Now i will be the first to agree if a poster's post say nothing except criticisms, or personal attacks, then id rather NOT have them here. I don't mind criticisms, in fact they are needed to expand MY thinking, because I for one have EXTREME trouble understanding TGM.
So, please don't go attacking someone that hasn't be given a chance to present their ideas as it may be helpful to someone like me.
Sorry for the rant.......

I would absolutely love to teach golf for a living, but since no AI's in UK ...becoming an authorized instructor doesn't look too promising.... fate it seems doesn't want me to much in the golf world. I wouldn't know where to begin in searching for that quest anyways but its one I wish sometimes I could take :)

Maybe when I get to my girlfriend in Michigan things will be different though ....:)

I really do hope ringer doesn't treat us like he treats other TGM types on the fgi forum, go read his attacks and dribble. Maybe he will grow up and wake up around others here.

Exactly. There can't be any fair debate with this revenge mentality coming from all directions. There can be Q & A's, but that is not debate.

It tells me my criticsim of TGM's "style" is shared by others. But my opponents knew that. "It has to read like a law book..." I humbly submit "haha, no actually it doesn't", sir!

Can you teach, me kind sir? Perhaps I will study your posts to understand the art of civility.
Would they be good instruction?

Yeah, right.
