Trackman Iron Pickups

That's interesting. The PGA Superstore has these, and I never really put much value to their club path data. I may have to spend more time there now.

The path data is more than fine. Problem is that the PGA Superstore people crank 'em up. They've got me hitting my 6-iron 200-210 yards.

I wish.

I hear ya on that.

But, they have the 'practice' bays that you can get a year's membership too. I think they have the same system there, just without the big screen display. If you had some time with the machine to yourself, I'd think you can set things to 'normal'.

I just wonder how accurate the path data really is.

beware the devils advocate

You seem intent on discrediting Trackman for some reason. Its no big deal to anyone if you're not goint to buy it. I'm just saying its the greatest thing ive ever seen in golf by far and have had nothing but amazing results with it. Also, I'll bet Flightscope is pretty good, too. So buy that one if you're worried about the price and data collecting. I really dont know the difference between them. There are very few people i trust and they said Trackman is the best so thats what we went with. I'm ecststic with the results. Putting a piece of turf down for a few swings doesnt seem like a big deal. There are sooo many things you can use it for that dont even require club data like approach tests, spin, driver fittings, etc.

Kevin,

Far from it. I even have trackman as my profile pic on facebook. I am simply conveying information that had never been discussed in any forum anywhere I've seen on the internet about the trackman having a hard time picking up short/mid iron club data off grass.

That is all. No agenda. No bias. Just facts from the Rep's mouth and from my eyes.

I agree with all your points and I saw it's usefullness first hand. I saw my guy change distances he was hitting his sandwedge because he could hear trackman telling him the yardage each shot went. Cool stuff to watch learning happen. Started calling out numbers to see if he could hit them. What a great way to make shortgame practice fun and competitive.

continuation

As i continue to seek information on this topic, I have spoken with other sales reps and trackman users and have found some info to help with picking up irons on the trackman.

The main thing I've heard is getting the ball directly on the aiming line of the trackman. This may explain why richie3jacks person told him to hit off a tee. This would mandate control over where the ball is placed relative to the trackman.

As i received more info from my rep, I was able to get club data from my other player that used it and he got 6 of 10 swings with data vs 2 of 10 from my first guy. This will give me the ability to make a much better comparison when flightscope day comes.

If anyone can tell me how to convert a pdf file to an html file, I will post stuff on here.
